At the last Blizzcon, the journalists of Blizzardwat's edition met with Alex Afrasiabi and Patrick Duson, and chatted about the future World of Warcraft. The interview was interesting, but one part it is worthy of separate consideration.


After Afrasiabi mentioned the growing conflict of Saurfang and Silvana, Mitch (Blizzardwatch employee) offered him to divide the Horde on separate fractions supporting its leader. Although the idea seemed to Alex "interesting and suitable for this scenario", Afrasiabi explained that the creation of a third fraction means an even greater separation of friends and existing guilds, since players of different fractions could not fight together. He likes another option: unite alliance and hordes.

"It will be an important lesson for Azeroth" - he concluded. "Although we fight against each other, we fight for our house."

I am writing about World of Warcraft since 2007. I play it from 2004. And I can not remember even the slightest mention of something similar from the WOW developer team, and even more so the person is the level of Alex Afrasiabi. I will clarify for clarity: it is not some ordinary employee there, and the Senior Creative Director, which gives an interview to two journalists on Blizzcon. He knows perfectly well that everyone said to hear all WoW players.

Combine?

Before that, I categorically denied the possibility of a complete end of the conflict of the Alliance and Horde in the battle for Azeroth. It seemed absurd. Yes, there were repeated statements that this supplement will finally deploy all the point over I in the conflict of two factions, which did not happen in Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria. But I had no idea what exactly it means. And naturally, did not even assume that someone in Blizzard thinks to commit to what the Franchise of Warcraft began.

But let's keep yourself in your hands.

Afrasiabi did not say that after the battle for Azeroth there will be no individual fractions. He also did not say that all players will consist in one faction. He simply mentioned that it would prefer this option to create a third fraction, which would be much stronger than the players. He does not want to destroy the created guilds or prohibit people to create groups with their friends. A wise decision. But this does not mean that after the battle for Azeroth, we will all consist in one fraction. His words are of great importance. This is the most radical statement from all that ever was told by Blizzard employees about a possible cross-fractional game. But so far, Alex does not hang the purple flag of the combined fraction.

Seriously, imagine a purple banner with a lion and a symbol of the horde, like a new flag of the Ordal'yans. Or alliancers? It would be damn cool.

Can we overcome hostility?

The significance of this approval is not only in its novelty, but also in the fact that Alex Afrasiabi is in a key position, having the opportunity to decide which direction WORLD OF WARCRAFT will move. So far there have been no news about such a concept in the following additions. We showed only reviews of patches 8.1, 8.1.5 and 8.2, and we know exactly what else will come out at least 8.2.5 and probably 8.3. But it is not yet known what will happen after 8.2.5, which is why Afraxiabi approval acquires a completely new meaning.

Of course, this can be realized in different ways. The easiest way will be given the opportunity to people from different fractions to unite over Real ID / Battletag, without giving any background. Just a new game feature. Your Ork Warrior can walk to the dungeon and raids along with the Paladin man. This will affect the confrontation of fractions from the point of view of Laura, but will expand the functionality of the creation of groups and guilds, and will not allow fractional accessories to divide you with friends.

But it does not pull in addition, which once and forever put an end to the conflict of the Horde and the Alliance. We saw a swear "disaccier" in which Anduin Rinn extended his hand with a hook of Saurfang despite their fractional differences, in an attempt to find a way to stop Silvan, without sacrificing to everyone that makes every fraction as it is. And it would be nice to see how this will affect the game itself. One day, Saurfang already led the army consisting of a soldier of the Alliance and Horde against the ancient God and his minions, and will be just fine, if in the patch 8.3 he will do the same.

Eternal expectation

I could not even think about a similar concept, seeing how Teldrasil is burning, and Podgorod eats the plague. It is difficult to imagine even the slightest concessions in the struggle of fractions, and even more so the possibility of their association. Even if it is small tags - the weakening of the stress, peaceful negotiations, small concessions to each other - now they will seem miracle. But this is what you should hope for players of both factions.

Again, no one promised anything like that. No one said that we would be able to unite with friends from the opposite faction in the next add-on. We did not even promise the resolution of the conflict between the Horde and the Alliance, which could lead to the blurring of fractional differences. But this is the most loud of such statements ever sounded from the mouth of Blizzard representatives. I would really like to be able to unite with other people, regardless of the faction, and I really hope that this statement is not empty words.

In the World of Warcraft game there are many fractions, as well as a guild with which you can pump a reputation - they have a different attitude to you: friendly, hostile and neutral. Depending on your reputation and your behavior, their attitude to you changes, with a friendly relationship you can access the goods of the faction, and with hostile they can desire to kill you.

The fractions are groups of non-chairs (NPC), which are located in various parts of the world. During the game, you will meet them, at the meeting they will appear in your reputation list. From your reputation, their relationship to you will depend so much. Also in the game there are factions of "cities", each city, large, there is its own fraction.

You can find out what your reputation with a specific fraction is possible in the Character Information window, on the Reputation tab.

That is what the reputation is affected in the game and what it gives:

  • Number of tasks from NPC;
  • Prices for goods and services from the NPS - the higher you have a reputation, the cheaper the repair and goods will cost;
  • Some products from representatives of fractions (intenitants) are "hidden" and become available only after receiving certain levels of reputation;
  • Purchase of making factions;
  • Achievements - for obtaining reputation with some factions you will be achieved;

Reputation levels

The reputation in the game is calculated by the points that need to be obtained. There are several levels of reputation, with negative to NPC better and not fit, can attack you and kill:

Negative:

  • Hate - -36.000 points - on your character will attack the NPS of this fraction;
  • Hostility - -12.000 - on your character may be attacking some NPS;

Neutral:

  • Dislike - -3.000 - You cannot talk to these NPS;
  • Indifference - + 3.000 - You can communicate with these characters, sell their items to them and buy something from them;

Positive:

  • Friendliness - + 6.000 5% discount on goods and services, as well as some products also become available;
  • Respect - +12.000 10% discount on goods and services, and access to new things sold;
  • Reverence - +21.000 15% discount on goods and services, access to new goods sold;
  • Increasing - +999 20% discount on goods and services, this reputation becomes available after taking respect. This is the maximum possible reputation in the game. Upon receipt, you can buy all possible products from merchants.

Swing a reputation

Here are some ways to pump reputation:

  • You will need to bring some items, for example.
  • Perform tasks (quests);
  • Perform deylks (daily tasks);
  • You can wear their emblem cape and undergo dungeons (Danza) to receive a reputation for the murder of enemies in them.

Sometimes, pumping the reputation of one fraction - the reputation of another decreases.

Methods of pumping reputation depend on the fraction, there are fractions where you can pump a reputation by all methods, and there are also such where only one.

Choosing a race for a character, you get a friendliness with her. As well as indifference with the fraction of your race.

What fraction to pump the very first? I recommend to you, at the very beginning of the way of mastering WOW start to download the reputation of the city in which you will "live" is most.
