Use the standard Windows uninstaller. Before that, close Steam by right-clicking on it in the notification area of ​​the taskbar (at the bottom right of the desktop, where the clock is) and selecting the exit command.

Then press the key combination Win (button with the Windows logo on the keyboard) + R. In the window that opens under the name "Run" enter the word and click "OK".

In the control panel, switch the view to "Category". Find the Programs section and click on the "uninstall the program" link.

Find Steam in the list of programs. To make it easier to do this, sort the list by the "name" or installation date column. Select the line with the Steam client and click on the " Delete»On the top panel.

In the uninstaller window that opens, click the "Delete" button again.

Find out which folder Steam is installed in. Right-click on the program's shortcut and look at the window with the name "Working folder".

Open it.

If Steam is running, close it.

Select the entire contents of the folder, right-click, and select the command " Delete". If you want to keep the games downloaded via Steam, do not delete the folder “ steamapps"(Deselect it). Also, if there are files of other programs or games in the folder besides Steam, deselect them too.

Now open the Windows Registry Editor. Press the Win + R key combination on the keyboard, enter a name and click the "OK" button.

Just in case, make a backup copy of the registry, select the File - Export command from the top menu and save it in the root of the C drive, under any name in Latin.
