Let's celebrate the end of another wonderful year in The Elder Scrolls Online Festival of new life! Fun quests and holiday rewards are back, along with free XP collectibles, materials, and style pages. unique items to the house and much more!

The New Life Festival marks the death of the old year and the birth of the new, so it is a celebration of hope and new beginnings. The winter solstice also falls during this period - when the sun-faced Magnus returns and the days become longer again.

Celebrations will begin at 18:00 UTC on Thursday, December 14, and will last until 18:00 UTC on January 2, 2018.

New life with increased experience

To take part in the festival, pick up a free New Life Festival scroll from the Crown Store - it will help you find Breda, the Herald of New Life, in a tent south of Windhelm in Eastmarch. She'll give you your first quest, New Life Festival, which will unlock a series of nine unique daily quests.

If you are faced with the problem of “how to get to Windhelm,” you can take a boat or cart from the Alik’r Desert or Malabal Tor, drive along the road from the Rift, or move to a friend or guildmate who is already there.

During the execution of each daily tasks You'll need to travel to a specific location to take part in local festivities unique to each of Tamriel's nine races:

  • Bretons: Castle Charm Challenge
  • Argonians: Fish Boon Feast
  • Dunmer: Lava Foot Stomp
  • Bosmer: Mud Ball Merriment
  • Redguards: Signal Fire Sprint
  • Nords: Snow Bear Plunge
  • Orcs: Stonetooth Bash
  • Khajiit: The Trial of Five-Clawed Guile
  • Altmer: War Orphan's Sojourn

The first time you complete any New Life Festival quest, you will receive a special collectible - Breda's Bottomless Mug of Mead. From this mug you can take a good sip of ale and get the effect of double experience gain for two hours! This effect stacks with all other similar ones (for example, those provided by scrolls or an active ESO Plus subscription).

Breda's bottomless mug of mead can be used almost anywhere in Tamriel - except Cyrodiil and the battlefields, so you won't need to return to Breda every two hours for a new portion. After the festival ends, the ale in the mug will not go anywhere, but will lose its experience-influencing features.

New Life Festival Gifts

What is the New Life Festival without gifts? For each Breda task you complete, you will receive a New Life Festival box. It usually contains random items - crafting materials, consumable memorabilia, and Wolfsbane Incense, a werewolf style material. But there is also a chance to get rare items from such a box, including:

Holiday decorations for home

During the Festival of New Life, you can purchase two new items for your home from Eralda Garscroft that are sure to add festive atmosphere your home. Eralda accepts payment in gold and requires you to complete certain New Life Festival achievements before agreeing to sell you items.

  • The Bonfire of New Life can be purchased for 10,000 gold after completing the Snow Bear Dive achievement.
  • The New Life Celebrators Banner can be purchased for 2,500 gold after completing the "New Life Celebrators" achievement.

The New Life Festival celebrates the passing of the old year and the birth of the new, so the celebration of hope and new beginnings has arrived. The festival also marks the Winter Solstice, when Magnus begins his return and the days grow longer.

Celebrate New Life by gaining more experience!

The New Life Festival will begin on Thursday at 18:00 Moscow time, December 14 and will last until Tuesday 18:00 Moscow time, January 2, 2018. To sign up for the festival, get a free New Life Scroll from the Crown Store. Use the scroll to find Herald of New Life Breda in a tent south of Windhelm in Eastmarch. She will give you the starting quest "New Life Festival", which will open a series of nine unique daily festival quests.

If you have difficulty traveling to Windhelm, you can take a boat or driver from Alikr or Malabar Tor and then walk from the Rift. Or simply teleport to a friend or guild member who is already in the area.

When you complete your first New Life Festival quest, you will add Breda's Bottomless Mug of Mead to your collection. This mug not only gives you the opportunity to enjoy delicious ale at any time, but also gives you a 100% bonus to the experience gained! This bonus stacks with all other bonuses that you can use on the character (for example, an experience scroll or a subscription bonus).

Breda's Bottomless Cup of Mead can be used throughout most of Tamriel, with the exception of Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds, so you won't have to return to Breda for a new bonus during the entire festival. At the end of the festival, you can continue to enjoy the drink, but there will no longer be a bonus to experience.

The Festival Box, like all the others, contains a random item. These can be crafting materials, souvenirs, or items from the Wolfsbane Incense or Skinchanger collections. However, you can also receive rarer rewards, such as:

Today, at 18:00 Moscow time, the New Life Festival will begin. A free New Life Festival Scroll will be waiting for you in the crown store, after reading which a quest dedicated to the celebration will begin. You will need to find a certain Breda south of Windhelm. She will give you daily quests, of which there are nine in total. Each quest is thematically linked to one of the nine game races(except for the Imperials) and will take place in the zone corresponding to this people. These quests are listed below:

For completing one quest you will be rewarded with a gift box containing a random selection of festival-related goodies. Each box will definitely include:

  • Random crafting material (cooking ingredient, alchemy reagent or health glyph)
  • Consumable version of the memento
  • Skinchanger style crafting additive - Wolfsbane Incense

In addition, you will receive one of the following:

  • A page from the Changeling's crafting style book
  • Green, blue or gold treat recipe for the New Life Festival
  • Special Collectible:
    – Bag of mud balls (souvenir)
    — Nordic bath towel (suit)
    – Patterned Colovian hood (headdress)

If you complete all of Breda’s tasks, you will receive a special paint (New Life azure) and the achievement “Celebrated New Life" And getting all the achievements related to the festival will also reward you with the title “Generous.” In addition, if you sip Breda's magnificent mead (from the keg located next to her), your experience gain will be doubled for two hours (every two hours you can reactivate this bonus by sipping from the keg). Try to complete each quest before the end of the celebration. The festival will end on January 4 at 18:00 Moscow time.
