Osiris: New Dawn - adventure action mmo in a sci-fi setting.
Plot in a nutshell
2046th year. Humanity already owns, though not perfect, but working technology of interstellar travel.
You are one of the colonizers of the second wave sent to the system Gliese 581
() to search and study planets suitable for habitation. While landing, your ship crashes, but you manage to survive.
From this moment on, your further fate depends only on you.

User interface (UI)
Standard equipment
In Osiris, the player starts out with a standard set of equipment that cannot be lost in the event of death. In other words, the player will respawn each time with this set of items in the inventory:
Buildings in Osiris are divided into three types:
- Auxiliary buildings(they can only be placed outside)
- Building
- Interior objects(respectively, they can only be placed inside buildings)
Auxiliary buildings
- Beacon(Lighthouse)
With the help of a beacon, you can track interesting places on the map. To get directions to a specific beacon, Radar ( Map). - Depository(Storage)
The Vault is a street container where a player or droid can store the contents of their inventory. - Flag(Flag)
The flag is used as decoration for your colony. - Forge(Horn)

This building can be used as a portable home. In it, you can save your progress, improve your health and replenish your oxygen supply. An inflatable canopy is available as any colonist's starting equipment. - Airlock(Atmospheric airlock)
A sealed structure that allows communication between zones with different pressures, different gas composition of the atmosphere on both sides of the device. Used as an entrance to your base. Without the use of a gateway, your base will not be considered airtight! - Habitat(Residential module)

Online game
For network game two types of servers are available: Public ( Public) and Privates ( Private respectively). It's very easy to play online with random people or friends:
Public servers
To play on public servers:
- Go to the menu section Multiplayer -> Public
- Choose any server you like from those available in the list
Private server for playing with friends
To play on your personal server:
- Go to the menu section Multiplayer -> Private
- Create a new universe with the necessary settings
- In the next window, select the friends you want to invite to the server
- Create a new character or select an existing one
- It remains to select the universe you created from the list
Colony creation and co-op
To create a colony, go to the character menu (the " Tab"), click the Colony button above the character's name and give it a name. After that you can invite other players to join the colony by interacting with them with the" F".
ATTENTION! It is best to create a colony immediately after the start of the game, otherwise allies will not be able to use the buildings that you erected before the creation of the colony!
Known bugs
- Sometimes items from the public storage of the colony can disappear.
- The character can get stuck on roofs or doorways.
- There may be minor object collision issues.
- After re-entering the game, the colony name may be displayed incorrectly.
- Mobs sometimes just disappear after death.
- Fur is currently unavailable for crafting.
- Problems with the proportions of textures in the barracks and living quarters.
- The color of the spacesuit in the character menu ( Tab) does not sync with the selected color.
- The blueprint system has not yet been introduced.
- The barracks are not sealed.
- Sometimes corridors disappear, and sometimes they cannot be built.
- Problems with finding a path for mobs in some situations.

- And has anyone encountered the problem of starting a single player game. I can't start it. I join the public without any problems, but the singing does not work.

First you need to create a colony, and then go to your friend and invite him by pressing the "F" button. More detailed information- in the "Network game" section of the guide. - Oxygen in the suit is restored by itself (unless, of course, it has reached zero percent), is this a bug or something I don't understand?
No, this is not a bug, this is how it should work. To use less Xylane, you should use Jetpack more often. You can also restore oxygen in the Inflatable Dome or the Living Module (if an Oxygen Generator is installed there).

First, check if your PC meets the minimum system requirements:
- OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)

Be sure to update your graphics card drivers and other software
Before you remember the worst words and express them towards the developers, do not forget to go to the official website of the manufacturer of your video card and download the latest drivers. Often, drivers specially optimized for them are prepared for the release of games. You can also try installing a later version of the drivers if the problem is not resolved by installing the current version.
It is important to remember that you should only download the final versions of video cards - try not to use beta versions, as they may contain a large number of not found and not fixed errors.
Keep in mind that games often require installation to run smoothly. latest version DirectX, which can always be downloaded from the official Microsoft website.
Osiris: New Dawn not starting
Many problems with the launch of games happen due to incorrect installation. Check if there were any errors during the installation, try uninstalling the game and running the installer again, after disabling the antivirus - files that are often needed for the game to work are deleted by mistake. It is also important to remember that on the way to the folder with installed game there should be no Cyrillic characters - use only Latin letters and numbers for catalog names.
It still does not hurt to check if there is enough space on the HDD for installation. You can try to run the game as Administrator in compatibility mode with different versions of Windows.
Osiris: New Dawn crashes. Low FPS. Lags. Friezes. Hangs
The first is to install fresh drivers on the video card, from this the FPS in the game can significantly increase. Also check the workload of the computer in the task manager (opened by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESCAPE). If, before starting the game, you see that a process is consuming too many resources, turn off its program or simply end this process from the task manager.
Next, go to the graphics settings in the game. First, turn off anti-aliasing and try lowering the post-processing settings. Many of them consume a lot of resources and turning them off will significantly increase performance without significantly affecting the picture quality.
Osiris: New Dawn crashes to the desktop
If Osiris: New Dawn often crashes to the desktop, try to reduce quality of the graphics. It is possible that your computer simply lacks performance and the game may not work correctly. Also worth checking out for updates - most modern games have a system automatic installation new patches. Check if this option is disabled in the settings.

The most common black screen issue is a GPU issue. Check if your video card satisfies minimum requirements and install the latest drivers. Sometimes a black screen is due to insufficient CPU performance.
If everything is fine with the hardware and it meets the minimum requirements, try switching to another window (ALT + TAB), and then returning to the game window.
Osiris: New Dawn is not installed. Installation hangs
First of all, check if you have enough HDD space for installation. Remember that for the installation program to work correctly, the declared amount of space is required, plus 1-2 gigabytes of free space on the system drive. In general, remember the rule - the system disk should always have at least 2 gigabytes of free space for temporary files. Otherwise, both games and programs may not work correctly or refuse to start at all.
Installation problems can also occur due to a lack of internet connection or its unstable operation. Also, do not forget to suspend the antivirus during the installation of the game - sometimes it interferes with the correct copying of files or deletes them by mistake, considering it as viruses.
Saves not working in Osiris: New Dawn
By analogy with the previous solution, check the availability of free space on the HDD - both on the one where the game is installed and on the system disk. Often, save files are stored in the documents folder, which is located separately from the game itself.
Controls not working in Osiris: New Dawn
Sometimes in-game controls do not work due to the simultaneous connection of multiple input devices. Try disconnecting your controller, or if for some reason you have two keyboards or mice connected, leave only one pair of devices. If your controller does not work, then remember - officially only controllers that are defined as Xbox joysticks support games. If your controller is defined differently, try using programs that emulate Xbox joysticks (for example, x360ce).
Sound does not work in Osiris: New Dawn
Check if the sound works in other programs. After that, check if the sound is muted in the settings of the game itself and if the audio playback device to which your speakers or headset is connected is selected. Next, while the game is running, open the mixer and check if the sound is muted there.
If you are using an external sound card- check for new drivers on the manufacturer's website.
After being wrecked on an unknown planet, you must explore an unpredictable environment, make friends with the natives and build a new ship. Wonders, hostile races and meteor showers await you. Stop, what's this with the co-op?
After a hard landing on the planet, the main components of your starship have fallen into disrepair. Now it is advisable for you and your comrades to found a colony on an open planet, explore it and find resources that will help restore the ship. You will have to fight or tame alien creatures, look for mineral deposits, build shelters from meteorites and get food.
In 2046, mankind managed to create an engine that made it possible to send expeditions into distant space. Players will try on research team jumpsuits "Osiris" who went to explore the star system "Gliese 581"... While exploring potentially habitable planets, your speed engine crashed violently and forced you to make a hard landing on an unexplored planet.
After disembarking, players will not be constrained in freedom of choice - they can explore the celestial body, however, common sense advises first to build an effective base that will supply you with food, tools and weapons. The central base is a living compartment of the spacecraft, to which you can attach blocks - food, scientific, industrial and many others.
In the future, technologies will have to be improved, and for this it will be necessary to study the planet deeper and find unique resources. And here a surprise awaits the players - in the distant corners of the planet you will encounter grotesque creatures that, for example, can freeze your blood or drink it. As a rule, such "gifts" spawn near resource-rich places.
You can only build a prosperous colony with friends, so the game contains all the attributes of high-quality multiplayer- crafting, construction, joint research and combat system... Everything you need to create yourself - from protection from meteorites and miasms, to fortifications from other online players. The higher your technological development, the better the products will be.
For example, weapons are the primary means of survival, which will be your constant companion throughout the game. Immediately after landing, you can only scare the creatures that inhabit the planet. In the future, you will build a workbench that will allow you to upgrade your weapon to local realities. If you thirst for war, then you need real workshops, machines and storage facilities. But you can experiment to your heart's content and create amazing designs.
Finally, the final part of the adventure is building a new spaceship, which will allow you to travel and discover other planets. It will be extremely difficult to achieve the goal, the components for the starship are at the very top of the production chain. True, at the moment this does not make much sense - space is empty, and new planets will appear only in the future.
Osiris: New Dawn Is a typical early access indie project. Nevertheless, the authors state in all seriousness: “The game has AAA qualities such as: HDR lighting and textures high resolution that create a frightening and wonderful world "... In fact, the world of the game will not be difficult to drive around on vehicles, and the AI of hostile mobs will not create any difficulties for you.
