PES vs FIFA - So which is better? FIFA vs PES - which soccer simulator is better What is cooler than fifa or a dog

Five main differences in popular soccer simulators.

On August 30, 2018, it will already be possible to download PES 2019, and a month later download FIFA 19. The confrontation between the two new simulators opens a new season. Live by Sport will help you make the choice, PES or FIFA in 2019.

Russian League in PES

A shock for FIFA fans - there will be no RFPL in 2019. Not at all, even in a lightweight format without licenses. Pro Evolution Socсer in best years differed from FIFA in realism, but the lack of official clubs has always been a problem. North London and Man Blue - each year such titles have to be rewritten by hand, patches downloaded or just played as it is. The number of licenses in PES has increased over time, but it's still a drop in the bucket.

PES 2019 and FIFA licenses

The Japanese decided to take a tricky path and enter into full-fledged contracts with developing leagues. That is why RPL will appear exclusively in PES, but it will not be in FIFA. Also in the simulator from the Japanese championships:

Argentina;
Belgium;
Switzerland;
Turkey;
Portugal;
Denmark.

In FIFA, as usual, there are dozens of licensed leagues, including the European Top-5 in full.

FIFA Champions League

There is already a joke on the Internet that FIFA and PES exchanged without looking. There were no licensed European cups in FIFA. Now there will be a solemn hymn and all the attributes. This is great success for Canadian developers. The main tournament of Europe is added to the official players and teams. In PES, a return to the sad past - strange international tournaments invented by the Japanese.

Survival mode and street soccer?

Recently it was officially confirmed that in FIFA 19 we will have the opportunity to play football without rules. In 2012, EA's bombshell game FIFA Street came out that nearly overwhelmed mainstream FIFA sales that year. The game was so great that after six years, many continue to spend time playing it, although it did not come out on the next generation consoles.

The new modes in FIFA 19 are supposed to be a step towards those very street football fans. In the new FIFA, it will be possible to disable the referee, play without a rule, and also definitely added a fun survival mode. Each time a goal is scored, a player will be removed from the field. The match will end when seven players remain in one of the teams.

Additional settings for fans of non-traditional football will allow you to disable offside and even head goals - fire, not innovation. Here PES is definitely far behind.

PES comes out earlier

The Japanese made a knight's move. All fans of sports simulators are used to the fact that new simulators usually come out in mid to late September. PES will be available for download on August 30th. FIFA will be released a month later. The Japanese see this as a strategic advantage. Anyone who plays FIFA will be interested in new version PES, tired of old game and, probably, they will be imbued with the capabilities of a competitor within a month

Another cool feature of PES 2019 is the online demo mode. That is, from August 8, you can already start online battles, however, with a limited number of teams and without Russians.

If you are still on Xbox360 or Play Station 3, then wait for FIFA. PES is only coming out on next-gen consoles. This will allow the Japanese to improve to bring the graphics to an unattainable level. Football players will have a dozen different emotions. The developers do not reveal all the secrets, but it is already known that virtual football players will react much brighter to their own mistakes.

It is, of course, good to play with consoles, but the main thing is not to forget about real football. Throw gamepads and enter the field. Earlier, we specially selected ten places in the capital where you can play football.

Going out to play football better prepared, so do not forget to check out the best feints that can be played not only on the joystick, but also in reality.

In any big sport, there are confrontations between two teams. Spartak and CSKA, Barcelona and Real, Celtic and Glasgow Rangers - football, by definition, offers a competition for the title of the strongest. If we transfer the competition to the world of video games, then there is no opposition stronger and more ancient than “FIFA vs. PES”.

Every year Electronic Arts releases new games in the licensed series to the public and every year the Japanese from Konami respond with their Pro Evolution Soccer series. Contestants are fighting for the hearts of fans of football simulations around the world, and players are asking the question: "Which is better - FIFA 18 or PES 18?" We played both games, and in this article we will give a detailed answer to this question.

Comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 18. Graphics and presentation

However you look at it, FIFA 18 has surpassed its rival in the graphics category this year. The lack of licensed clubs in PES 2018 remains big problem especially for console players who can't fix the situation with mods. FIFA 18, in turn, offers players full list licensed teams from a wide variety of leagues and nationalities. Everything - from the appearance of the players to the pattern on the uniform - corresponds to its real prototypes. Electronic Arts has also equipped the graphics engine with new effects this year, such as lighting and dynamic weather.

PES 2018 adds more licensed clubs, but still less compared to FIFA 18

The interface in FIFA 18 also looks first-class, making the menus convenient and easy to navigate. In contrast to FIFA, PES 2018 does not have a unified aesthetic. Although the models of football players have been improved, in general, the game loses to the licked and polished appearance competitor. The menu has not changed since last year, and instead of Manchester United, you will play as Man Red.

Comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 18. Gameplay

But in terms of gameplay, everything is not so obvious. Each player has his own opinion regarding the convenience of the game. Let's briefly describe the features of the gameplay of both projects.

The gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 is very organic. Passing is comfortable, dribbling is very responsive, and shots on goal feel right. Goalkeepers and defenders act wisely - playing PES 18 is simply convenient and enjoyable.

The gameplay is still the most strong point PES

The developers at EA have made some minor changes to FIFA 18 from last year. Shooting and dribbling are now more responsive. The most significant changes have been made in the area of awnings - you can get the ball into the box more quickly, and in addition, you can adjust the height and speed of the projectile. Thanks to the variety of delivery of the ball to the goal, goals have become more varied and beautiful.

Shooting on goal has never been so good in FIFA 18

But at the same time, FIFA 18 has its own problems. The dribbling is still not as impressive as in PES 2018, and the passes are not as accurate. Different players and teams don't feel so different.

Thus, playing PES 2018 is slightly more convenient and interesting than FIFA 18.

Comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 18. Game Modes

One of the main aspects of competition in soccer simulators is the richness and depth of game modes. Traditionally, FIFA has outnumbered PES in this regard, and FIFA 18 is no exception. The Journey story mode continues the story of up-and-coming Alex Hunter. The story is not for show - the mode contains fully voiced story clips and the ability to choose (almost like in Mass Effect).

Story mode in FIFA 18 will keep you engaged for hours of captivating history

FIFA Ultimate Team (abbreviated as FUT) has become a huge hit with players online and is now essentially a separate game within the game. Squad Battles, Daily Objectives - this is not a complete list of types of games for those who love FIFA 18.

What will PES 2018 offer? The Master League has received minor improvements: a new menu interface allows for easier navigation, transfer negotiations are now easier, and a new Challenge Mode brings a variety of unpredictable scenarios to the game. The MyClub game view is a kind of alternative to the FUT mode, but still does not offer the same depth of play as the competitor.

The most successful new regime PES 2018 - Random Selection Match. This type of game returned from PES 6 with minor changes. Together with a friend, you each receive a team of randomly collected players (not entirely random, however - you are free to choose a country or club). Then each of you tries to take players away from the other. It may not sound as exciting, but this mode is a lot of fun in action.

Verdict. Which is better - FIFA 18 or Pro Evolution Soccer 2018?

In general, which game you prefer depends on your taste and priorities. PES 2018 offers more user-friendly and responsive game process however FIFA 18 has more beautiful graphics and a nicer presentation. EA's creation immerses you in the world of big football, thanks to many small graphical details, whereas in PES 2018 all teams are not even licensed.

If you are taking a game for online matches, then both projects will offer decent competition options. FIFA 18 beckons with famous FUT, and PES 2018 includes 3v3 co-op mode.

The gaming industry has invaded all areas of our lives, including sports. Football simulators from gaming giant EA Games have popularized the genre of “ sports simulator"Among gamers of the mid-90s. But if earlier in the game "FIFA" from the Canadian company they preferred to play in the company of several friends, now the situation has changed radically due to the appearance of online multiplayer and the Ultimate Team mode. However, this problem has befallen not only the sports segment of games, because almost all game genres have acquired titles with online modes. At the current time, multiplayer via the Internet is considered the basis of the game, since it is much more interesting to compete with real players than with computer bots. But the main thing that spurs game developers to improve their offspring is competition. The appearance of PES from Konami made Electronic Arts look differently at the gameplay and graphics of its FIFA, and fans of football simulators had another reason to argue about which game is better.

A little about simulators

FIFA

« FIFA» – football simulator from Electronic Arts, which appeared back in 1993. Since then, many versions of the game have been released, the last of which has acquired women's teams. FIFA-16, unlike its predecessors, has good graphics and is supported on multiple platforms: PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. In addition, there is mobile version FIFA for the Android platform.

PES

PES, or Pro Evolution Soccer, - a game brainchild of Konami, released in 2001. Like FIFA 16, PES 2016 is supported on PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms, including older consoles (Xbox 360 and Sony PS 3) as well as PC.

While EA Games in the early versions of FIFA focused on licenses and the number of teams, the PES developers paid more attention to gameplay. In the current 16 versions, both games have good graphics, great gameplay and many leagues. But the main difference between FIFA and PES is that the brainchild of the Canadian company EA is more likely intended for online and network battle, while the Japanese simulator from Konami is suitable for leisurely play on the couch with friends.

Comparison

The main mode of Ultimate Team, which appeared in FIFA-15, significantly diversified the gameplay and allowed the company to make more money from donating players than from selling the simulator itself. In Konami, there is an analogue of FUT called myClub only in PES 2016, but, unlike the "fifa" one, it is not so cool and diverse in terms of player purchases and functionality. If you dream of assembling a dream team by pouring a huge amount of money into the simulator, then it is better to give preference to the Canadian game.

The gameplay is what many love Pro Evolution Soccer and hate FIFA for. IN Japanese simulator the player has more opportunities in the tactical component of the game. In addition, the current gameplay in PES 2016 resembles that of PES 6. As for FIFA, the company's developers spent more time on licenses, services and sawing game schemes according to the residual principle: goalkeepers freak out in the penalty area, defenders often refuse to run to the enemy, commentators “blunt " etc.

When it comes to licenses, FIFA is undoubtedly the leader in this. After all, PES has never had a lot of teams. The appearance of female teams did provoke the male half of the simulator fans. Alas, the Japanese game creation has to be content with the role of catch-up.

In terms of graphics, it's hard to say which simulator is on this moment better. Yes, of course, the faces of players on PES look much better up close. However, depending on the platform, the game graphics can vary markedly.

So what's the difference between FIFA and PES? As a matter of fact, both games are good and differ in minimum, because modern capacities allow you to bring the graphics to new level... Fifa is more suitable for playing on the Internet, while Dog is ideal for playing with friends. However, the network component of both games is located at good level, and it is pointless to say that Pro Evolution Soccer is not suitable for online multiplayer. Still, the online component of FIFA 16 is slightly better than that of PES 2016.

Each gamer chooses a simulator to his liking. Some prefer cool gameplay, others prefer a large number of leagues and associations. But, frankly, such a rivalry between Konami and EA only plays into the hands of the players, since only competition forces developers to improve their game products.

table

A video version of the comparison of the two football simulators is presented below.

Basically, in computer games I don't play at all, but FIFA and PES football simulators are the very two exceptions to the rule. The reason for this is quite simple - I like football, so the more of it in my life, the better. In general, the question "Which is better: FIFA or PES?" can be equated to eternal and put in one place with "Which is better: Android or iOS?", "Is the universe infinite?" etc. But if you approach this point fundamentally, comparing these two games in terms of key parameters, you can get a completely sane result. This is what I propose to do now.

Game process

When it comes to a simulator (football or some other), then here, first of all, I want to see all the same realism. In this regard, PES is still in the role of catching up. Developers from EA Sports feel more confident in this regard. You don't have to look far for examples: just take the effect of weather on games. I do not like playing matches in FIFA when the god of randomness chooses rain, because it complicates the gameplay: if the field is wet, the ball does not roll so fast on the lawn, the players move slower, it becomes more difficult to take the ball away from the opponent, and so on. If we talk about PES, then, unfortunately, the weather, rather, simply acts as an option that does not affect the gameplay itself. Although, the guys from Konami have improved the tactical behavior of the computer when playing offline, but there are still a lot of things that need to be improved to catch up with FIFA. If in real life If you played football, you will notice that in FIFA (especially in version 16) it behaves like a real one. Therefore, while 1: 0 in favor of FIFA.

Graphic arts

If we take into account exactly two latest versions of our football simulators, then in terms of graphics, it seems like FIFA looks better. Here even the faces of the players (not all of them, of course) are very close to the originals. PES also boasts something similar, but the number of "similar" faces there is much less. But specifically in this genre, character animation is also very important (let's call the players that). In Konami's creation, almost every player has their own individual dribbling pattern and tackling style, which depends on many factors. In FIFA, everything is much simpler: some players are copies of each other. You understand this when you have played more than 500 hours for different teams, although at first glance, different skills and abilities bring variety. But, let me remind you, only at first glance. And one more point - scripting. This, too, is the brainchild of EA Sports. In football, on the contrary, you want some non-standard actions, and some top players in FIFA behave according to a template (there is not one template, but if you play for a long time, it is very noticeable). Well, I think we have 1: 1.

Leagues and teams

I think knowledgeable people (those who are in the subject) have already understood what will be discussed. Yes, it's about licensing. This is a perennial problem between PES and Konami. Here you can even remember the question of realism. Well, I can't, being, say, a fan of Manchester City (that's not the case, if anything), play for a team called Blue Manchester in PES. Yes, developers have to somehow bypass all possible prohibitions, but HOW SO, Eh ?! By the way, Manchester City is not the only team affected. Although, on the other hand, Konami has a license until 2018 for the Champions League and Europa League. Yes, there are no such tournaments in FIFA, but there are competitions with the same principle and selection, only under a different name (you don't even pay attention to this). In short, team name licenses are not a major issue for PES today. There are not so many leagues, but somehow I don't really want to play for FC London (this is Chelsea) or for North London (Arsenal). There are patches that "fix" the names of the teams, but agree that this should not be - 2: 1.

Online Play

Here, too, everything is quite simple: there is online both there and there. But once you look at the game on the Web in PES and FIFA, it becomes clear that the guys at EA Sports have more experience. In FIFA (I'm talking about the last part now) there are a lot of small nuances that simplify the process itself. As they say, everything is done in this simulator for people. There are some things in PES that need some work. But this is by no means a stick in Konami's garden, it's just that the Japanese are really less on the market and have just recently found their way. As for the MyClub in PES, it can be seen that the developers are still trying to copy (indirectly, but still) FUT from EA Sports. But personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. In addition, unfortunately, in our countries, many people download games and use "cracks" is banal, so there is no talk of playing on the Net there. By the way, this time EA Sports took this issue seriously, so there is still no “pill”. The regiment of "freeloaders" arrived. It has arrived at PES. In general, if we return to our main topic, then in network game the leader is also FIFA, but the developers from Konami are moving in the right direction. In the meantime - 3: 1.

As for me, this is quite enough to understand that FIFA is really better at the moment. But if you take into account the progress that the PES developers have made literally over the past two or three years, then you understand that EA Sports is time to start worrying and improve your creation in every possible way. After all, if it goes on like this, then the title of "The best football simulator of all times and peoples" will be taken by PES. Let's see how the situation develops this year: FIFA 17 and PES 2017 will be released in September. If you are also a football fan and from time to time like to roll a few matches in FIFA or PES, then be sure to write your opinion on the situation in the comments. I think everyone will be interested.
