Mount and blade warband how to increase the size of the squad. Complete guide to mount and blade game. How to defend your right to power

Beginning of the game.

1.Creation of a character. With this you will figure it out. If you do not want to create it yourself, just make money by accident until you find a skin that you like.
2. Before the story. You will be asked a number of questions, starting equipment and stats will depend on these questions. I advise you to choose the most noble past for more intelligence at the start and better equipment.
3.Stats for a character's stat there is a separate section where you can see what affects what, but in the beginning, in my opinion, it is better to pump intelligence.
4. Arrive in the kingdom. You will be asked which ship you want to board.
1) Kingdom swad (orange)
2) Sultan Kingdom (yellow)
3) Khergit Khanate (violet)
4) Kingdom of Rodok (green)
5) Kingdom of Vegir (white)
6) Kingdom Nord (blue)
If you play on a low level of difficulty, it is better to go to the vegir, the bandits and robbers in the vegir have very good equipment.

How many I play mount and blade I still don't understand what they are for. Most likely they give a small bonus to speed and damage, there are a lot of different bonuses, but all of them are not significant, in confirmation of my words I will say that my favorite long range weapon is a crossbow with a level crossbow shots, it got better and did more damage. There are 6 of them in total.
1) One-handed weapon
2) Two-handed weapon
3) Three-handed weapons, joke, polearms
4) Archery
5) Crossbow shooting
6) Throwing

Factions (Mount and Blade: Warband)

There are 6 factions in this game. They are listed below:

The Swad Kingdom is an influential faction. This faction has the strongest knights with fairly well-equipped horses. The capital of this faction, Praven, is perhaps the largest city in the game. Lady Isolde de Suno claims the throne of this faction. This faction is ruled by King Harlaus. Germany is the prototype for this faction.

Kingdom of Vegir is a faction that exists in the snow. Knights are the weakest. There are many archers, but they do not aim well. Prince Waldym-Bastard claims the throne of this faction. This faction is ruled by King Jaroglek. The prototype of this faction is Russia.

The Rodok Kingdom is a faction located in the mountains. They have no horsemen and the foot troops are inferior to the Nords. Lord Castor de Veluca claims the throne. The faction is ruled by King Gravet. Italy is the prototype of this faction.

Kingdom Nord is the northern faction. She has no cavalry. But they have the strongest infantry. Ideal for grabbing locks. But it can also work in open combat. Nords have the best fortified castles. Letwin the Wanderer claims the throne of this faction. This faction is ruled by King Ragnar. The Normans are the prototype for this faction.

Saranid Sultanate - new faction, which exists especially in the warband. The archers of this faction are pretty strong. The Mamelukes, in turn, just barely reach the wedding knights. Arva claims the throne of this faction. The faction is ruled by Sultan Hakim. The prototype of this faction is the Arabs.

The Hergite Khanate is the weakest faction in the game. There is only cavalry. But the Hergites have pretty fast horses. Dostum Khan claims the throne. Ruled by the Sanjar Khan faction. The prototype for this faction is the Golden Horde.

When capturing a castle, the character creates his own faction, it is red, and you come up with its name yourself.

Multiplayer.

Mount & Blade: Warband has a multiplayer mode. The multiplayer in this game supports up to 64 players. Some modifications allow you to use multiplayer, the maximum number of players in which is 222. There are different battle modes: Massacre, Wall to Wall, Capture the Flag, Conquest, Battle, Duel and Siege. In these battles, you can earn money, for which you can then buy new equipment for your character.

Satellites

Companions can be found in taverns in different cities. Each of them has their own biography, which he sets out when joining your squad. Some of the companions require an advance payment, some agree to travel with you for free. You can contain several satellites at the same time, but they will constantly swear among themselves. But if you have lost your companion, you can always find him in some tavern and take him back. Below are the relationships of satellites with each other.

After that, from the companion, you can make your vassal with his own army. If your companions quarrel at the end, one of them can leave, but perhaps you can dissuade him with sufficient persuasion skill. A certain companion does not sit in a certain tavern, they all travel.

To activate cheats, select the settings menu in the game boot menu and check the box next to “Enable Cheats”. In the game, use the following key combinations:
Ctrl + F5 - during the battle, your character is controlled by artificial intelligence;
Ctrl + H - heal your character (only during the battle);
Ctrl + Shift + H - heal the horse (only during the battle);
Ctrl + F3 - cause damage to your character (only during the battle);
Ctrl + X - +1000 gold (on the inventory screen);
Ctrl + X - +1000 experience (on the character screen);
Ctrl + W - increases weapon handling skills;
Ctrl + Alt + F4 - all opponents fall unconscious;
Ctrl + Shift + F4 - knocks down the enemy on which the increase;
Ctrl + Shift + F6 - knocks down all your allies;
Ctrl + F6 - knocks down one of your companions;
Ctrl + F4 - knocks down one of the enemies;
Ctrl + T - allows you to see all objects on the global map;
Ctrl + left click - teleports you to the point you specified on the global map.
I strongly discourage users with cheats because of them, the game will add up to a maximum of an hour.
If you still use cheats during a battle using a combination of all opponents falling unconscious do not accidentally press alt + f4 this will close the game. Also, with cheats enabled, you will not receive achievements.

When capturing a castle, you can appoint yourself as a leader, choose a flag and name a kingdom.
for this you will need silk and tools that can either be bought or taken from peasants, silk cost about 1000 dinars, and tools 450. The higher your honor and glory, the more often vassals will come to you. If vassals do not come to you, but you really want You can appoint your companion as a vassal. To do this, go to the squad section, click on the satellite, speak after clicking I want to ask you and ask him if he wants to get a land allotment, then choose what to give him. Soon you will see him patrolling your lands.
Deal with vassals.
If you already have many vassals and you give another allotment, the relationship with the vassal who received the allotment increases and with the rest deteriorates. If one of the vassals has no allotments for a long time, relations with him will deteriorate.
In your squad, you can recruit not only soldiers, but also heroes (vassals). There are 16 such heroes in total. But it’s impossible to miss all of them all the time. they constantly quarrel among themselves, it is usually recommended to have 5-7 heroes at the same time, no more. NPCs can pump the skills of the squad, which are transferred to the entire unit. You can have a doctor hero, or an engineer hero, etc. , thereby not wasting your points on these skills. Heroes are immortal, they can only be stunned during a battle, they can be taken prisoner, but they cannot be killed. NPC heroes swing in the same way as the main character.Alayen Tactic 1

On WarBand: when you create a character, go to the global map (you can also during a battle), select the Character section in the lower corner of the screen, and then select the Statistics section in the lower, left corner of the screen, it will say how many enemies you have killed and yours will be on the right. Export and Import a character. Select Export, then a sign will appear (if you have a license, then nothing will work), click OK and deploy the game by going to the desktop, then go here C: \ Documents and Settings \ 1 \ My Documents \ Mount & Blade Warband \ Characters, and in front of you there will be several text documents (depending on how many Persians you have created) and incomprehensible hieroglyphs, the number of hieroglyphs depends on the length of your character's name. Go into the text document and change everything you need, but the Agility table does not exceed more than 600 otherwise it will fly literally and figuratively, and so we changed everything, left and saved and back to the game, we will have the same Import and Export, this time select Import and click OK again. Call and forget to write your name again.
On the Hero's Story: all the same current place C: \ Documents and Settings \ 1 \ My Documents \ Mount & Blade Warband \ Characters go to the game folder, and go to the CharExport folder and see the same documents with the same hieroglyphs and do everything according to the old procedure.
P.S. I just wrote about the Warband and the story of the hero, but many ask the question: what about Fire and Sword? To this question, I will answer you this way: if you have Great Battles, then the system is taken from the Warband. Well, if you have a Golden Edition, then we do according to the Hero's Story system

With great pleasure I will add your hints, tips for the game. Feel free to leave comments. I will gradually replenish this collection.

Put the enemy on a spear, be knocked out of the saddle, find yourself a horse and rush into battle again. Defending your castle, personally stand with an ax and a shield on the fortress wall and cut the besiegers until their living wave rolls back. Remember the nobleman who offended you, after a year find him, rob and sell into slavery to the steppe people. Live a full medieval life. Mount & Blade is about that.

When Sir Kay saw that there was no horse under Sir Griffett, he rushed at the King of Nantres, knocked him out of the saddle, and he took his horse to Sir Grifflett and helped him up into the saddle. And also Sir Kay with the same spear crushed King Lot and inflicted a severe wound on him. This, the King-with-a-Hundred-Knights saw, and he rushed at Sir Kay, knocked him out of the saddle, led his horse away and gave King Lot, and he said to him: "Gramercy." And Sir Griflet, seeing that Sir Kay and Sir Lucan the Butler were both pesies, raised a sharp spear; heavy and square, and rushed at Pionel, a glorious knight, threw him down with his horse, and then took his horse and gave it to Sir Kay.

Country of Calradia

Calradia is a fictional medieval country, corresponding to Europe from 1150 to 1350 A.D. Once Calradia was a province of a great empire, but now it is torn apart by five hereditary kingdoms: Swadia, Vergis, the Northern Kingdom, the Rodok kingdom and the Kergit Khanate. These states wage frequent internecine wars, and you can take the most direct part in them.

Kingdoms are feudal states ruled by a king, queen, or khan with several vassals sworn to allegiance. There are two ways to become a subject of a kingdom: become a mercenary or a vassal. To do this, you need to talk to the rulers several times and get a task from them. If the kingdom is at war with someone, then sooner or later you will be offered a mercenary contract. It is easier to be a mercenary, but even if you seize some lands, they will not be given to you.

You cannot become a king or queen, because the local nobility will never tolerate a foreigner as a ruler. However, by becoming a vassal, you will be able to influence who will take the throne.

Character characteristics

I will give a prophecy, my khan: let your snowy black mountains not be crushed; your shady strong tree may not be cut down; may your ever-flowing beautiful river never run dry; may the almighty god not force you to resort to villains! Let your light gray horse, galloping, not get tired; let your black damask sword, striking, not stumble; let your motley spear, striking, not break!

"The book of grandfather Korkut"

Character Creation

The game starts with the character creation screen - your in-game embodiment. You can choose your gender, appearance, come up with a name, determine the origin and skills of your hero.

The origin indirectly affects the initial conditions of the game: your equipment, skills and abilities, but it does not have any significant effect on the game's life.

Your character will develop thanks to the experience gained. You will gain experience by defeating enemies in battle (both independently and with the help of an army under your command), fighting in the arena and completing tasks. After gaining enough experience, your character will switch to new level, for which he will receive 1 point of characteristics, 1 point of skills and 10 points of weapons.

You can view information about your character and distribute the received points on a special screen, which can be accessed from the main menu or simply by pressing the C key (this key can be reassigned).

Specifications

Your character has four main characteristics, on which everything that he does directly depends. Stats give your character several instant benefits and also allow you to develop related skills. When you create a new character, you will receive 4 points that can be invested in the development of characteristics, and when you move to a new level, you will receive one more point each time.

The characteristics are as follows:

  • Force... Each point spent on this stat will increase your health by 1 point and increase the damage you deal.
  • Agility... Each point spent on this stat increases your attack speed by 0.5% and gives you 5 additional weapon points.
  • Intelligence... Each point spent on this stat gives you an additional skill point.
  • Charisma... Each point spent on this stat increases your maximum squad size by 1.

Skills

There are three types of skills. Personal skills affect only individual characters and their abilities. Just because you know how to ride a horse does not mean that everyone around you will also be excellent in the saddle. Leader skills act only if the leader owns them. Squad skills used by your entire group - it is enough that at least one fighter possesses the skill, although if the leader possesses it, the skill can be used more effectively.

Weapon proficiency

There are six types of weapons in the game, and if you are going to take a direct part in battles, you need to learn how to handle one or two types of weapons. The higher your level of weapon proficiency, the faster you can attack or defend in melee, or more accurately hit targets from a distance.

Your skills in handling one or another weapon will also develop in battle with enemies. Melee weapon skills develop with simple damage, and ranged weapon skills develop with difficult long-range shots.

Control

Walking

By default, your character moves using normal keys W, A, S and D:

  • W- go ahead;
  • S- go back;
  • A- go to the left;
  • D- go to the right.

You can look around with the mouse. But turning the mouse while walking will change the direction of movement. Press the Forward Arrow Key to rotate your character towards the camera.

Horse riding

Horse riding is done a little differently:

  • W- to spur the horse;
  • S- retire the horse;
  • A- turn left;
  • D- turn right.

By rotating the mouse, you change the viewing angle, but not the direction in which the horse is galloping.

You can stop the horse by slowing down. If your horse is backing away, press W until it stops.

Horses don't climb slopes as well as humans, so try to avoid hills. They also cannot turn quickly, so if you turn sharply, you may collide with a tree or other obstacle.

Other control keys

Non-Combat / General:

  • F- perform the action indicated by the keyword;
  • I- open inventory;
  • P- open the squad window;
  • C- open the character window;
  • Esc- open the pause menu;
  • F12- quick saving of the game;
  • TAB- leave the area;
  • "Space"(click) - cancel the destination and pause the time on the world map;
  • "Space"(delay) - wait for the expiration of the time period on the world map;
  • Ctrl + left mouse button(press) - transfer the desired item to the other side (when trading or collecting trophies).

Real Time / In Battle Commands:

  • Left mouse button(press) - perform a quick attack with the selected weapon;
  • Left mouse button(hold up) - aim (when using a long-range weapon) or bring a hand for a close strike;
  • "Space"- jump;
  • Right mouse button(detain) - close with a shield or weapon;
  • Right mouse button(press) - remove the sight (when using long-range weapons);
  • Right mouse button(hold) - unlock the camera so that it rotates freely around the character even while moving;
  • Shift(hold) - to bring the camera closer for a while;
  • Keys F1-F11 and 1-5 - give an order during the battle;
  • R- switch between first and third person views;
  • Mouse wheel(twist up) - take the next weapon;
  • Mouse wheel(twist down) - remove the shield or pull it out.

Inventory

Armor is strong on mighty shoulders ... the armor is pure silver, and the chain mail on it is red of gold, and ... the price of the armor is three thousand, and the price of the chain mail is forty thousand.

From the epic "About the boyar's son Duke Stepanovich"

Item characteristics

In order to get complete information about an item, you need to move the mouse cursor over it. Each item has its own weight and price, as well as unique qualities inherent only to items of this type.

Every weapon has a certain state, which shows how soundly or badly the weapon is made or how many battles it has seen. Cracked, broken, bent, or rusty weapons will do less damage than new ones and cost much less. Heavy weapons will do slightly more damage, but will be slightly slower. A balanced or moire steel weapon will do slightly less damage, but with a higher speed, and will be quite expensive.

Weapon parameters:

  • Damage- the amount of damage inflicted by the weapon with an average skill of handling it and 100% speed.
  • Radius- the distance at which you can hit the target.
  • Speed- the speed of the blows inflicted by this weapon.
  • Breaking through shields- some types of weapons (for example, axes) can break enemy shields to pieces.

The armor also has a certain state. Torn, uneven, battered, or rough armor offers less protection than new (but less expensive) armor, while tough, thick, or reinforced armor provides much better protection (and costs much more).

Shields also have a condition parameter. If a shield is listed as "Cracked" or "Battered," then it has already been used in many skirmishes and will last less than a new shield. The most durable are the shields listed as "Strong" or "Fortified" - they are designed for more severe damage. If the shield breaks during the battle, its level will decrease by 1. If it was "Cracked", then it will be destroyed forever.

Shield parameters:

  • The size: the physical length and width of the shield. The larger the shield, the heavier it is, but also the better it protects against attacks from a long distance. Regardless of its size, the shield has a fixed degree of protection against melee attacks. It doesn't matter if you close it or not - damage will always be reduced by the same amount.
  • Resistance: the strength of the shield, depending on its material. The resistance of the shield is subtracted from the damage dealt on it: for example, if the resistance is 5 and the damage done is 30, then in the end the shield will take only 25 points of damage.
  • Strength: Damage that the shield can take on before it breaks. Between fights and battles, the strength of the shields is automatically restored, although they cannot be returned to their original state (for example, you cannot make the "damaged" shield normal again).
  • Speed: how quickly you will cover with a shield using a defensive stance. The faster the shield, the less delay - light shields may not have it at all, and large shields take time to close you.

Equipment

Your character has several slots where you can place various subjects equipment. In order to use an item, you usually have to first place it in one of these slots. The total weight of your equipment is called “burden” and is shown below the slots. The heavier your equipment, the slower your character moves on foot. You can lighten your load by investing a few points in the development of athletics.

Cities and commerce

How noble and beautiful Constantinople is! How many monasteries and palaces there are, built with amazing art! How many amazing products are on display in its squares and streets! It would be too long and boring to talk in detail about the abundance of all kinds of riches, about gold, silver, a thousand types of fabrics, holy relics that are in this city, where at any time numerous ships bring everything that people need ...

Fulchery Shartsky

Traders can always be found in towns and villages. In order to sell or buy something, just go to the merchant and when the message "Talk" appears, press the action button.

Trading is a team skill, and if at least one member of your squad knows it, then you can take full advantage of this skill.

Prices change depending on how trade is going between cities, caravans and villages. It doesn't hurt to spend a little time looking at all the prices in the market and figuring out which products you can get the most profit from. Making a profit from trading is simple: you just need to find a place that pays big money for something that is very cheap elsewhere.

Each city has a tavern where you can make useful contacts. Firstly, in the tavern, you can recruit mercenaries to your squad. Secondly, you can meet one of the wandering heroes of Calradia and make them your partners. Such companions will be very useful to you: you can equip them and level them up as your character, and in addition, they can add new skills to your squad.

Horses

Any warrior, be he like a lion, can destroy and weaken an insignificant obstacle, as happened to me at Homs; when I went into battle, my horse was killed and I received fifty blows from the sword. This happened in fulfillment of the will of Allah and thanks to the negligence of my stirrup in strengthening the horse's reins. He tied the reins to the rings, but did not pass it through them, and when I pulled on the reins, wanting to get away from the enemies, the knot of the reins untied, and what befell me.

Osama ibn Munkyz, "Book of Edification"

Horse breeds

There are several breeds of horses in the game, each of which has its own price and is better or worse than others for a specific task. A heavy war horse in armor will not suit an archer, and a lancer will not be able to attack with dignity while riding an old mule.

  • Pack horses, or mules- This is the cheapest breed, raised especially for the lower class, which uses mules as mounts and beasts of burden. Mules can often be found in caravan processions.
  • Race horses they are also inexpensive, they are distinguished by a meek disposition and a soft gait. A good travel horse for a good price.
  • Steppe horses raised by nomads. These are rather small animals of a brave disposition. They run at the same speed as regular racehorses, but are more enduring and lighter.
  • Trotters Are light horses designed primarily for the delivery of important messages. They are very hardy and run very fast. They have little strength, so that armor cannot be put on a trotter, but due to their speed and dexterity, they can make circles around other animals.
  • Gunthers- these are noble war horses, which are not inferior in speed to trotters, and in strength and endurance - to some war horses. They are renowned for their ability to move quickly over difficult terrain while hunting.
  • War horses They move slower than everyone else, but they are much stronger and can wear chain armor. These horses are used by heavy cavalry and are trained to sweep away the enemy rather than outflank them, making them very dangerous against infantry.
  • Destrie- the largest, they are used by the elite cavalry and the richest knights. Their main advantages are their enormous size, strength and the ability to wear durable armor. Due to their impressive weight, they are even better able to cope with enemy infantry, literally trampling it into the ground.

A horse can be bought from merchants, but they usually have little choice. Before you buy a horse, hover your mouse over it and find out what it can do. The higher the indicators, the better:

  • Speed- maximum speed on level ground.
  • Agility- maneuverability. The lower the speed at which the horse runs, the more difficult the maneuvers it can make.
  • Armor- resistance to attacks. Horse armor works the same way as yours.
  • Attack- the damage that the horse will inflict, knocking down the enemy at full speed.

You may encounter lame horses, horses with round backs (old ones), or simply restive. Such horses are different from others: the lame drive slowly because of the wounds received, but over time they can be cured; horses with a round back also ride a little slower than others, and only those who have a very well-developed riding skill will be able to ride skittish horses. However, all these horses have a rather low price compared to the rest. Also, you may come across horses with exceptional characteristics: high-spirited horses are faster and more agile than ordinary ones, and heavy ones are more enduring and trample enemies better. However, these horses are also more expensive.

Squad management

Sooner or later, you will meet a large group of people hungry for your death (or at least your money and equipment), at which point you need help.

Each group on the world map is called a "squad". There are three types of people in the squad:

  • Heroes- this is you and other characters with special skills and agreed to join you. Heroes have names, and you can determine how they develop and allocate points. You can also supply them with special equipment for use in battle.
  • Mercenaries- these are the people you hired in a tavern, village, or rescued from captivity. Unfortunately, they are simple cannon fodder. They have no names or faces, and you shouldn't get attached to them. They also gain experience and increase their level, but you cannot influence their development in any way. They also receive equipment automatically and cannot be changed.
  • Captives- humiliated, defeated and chained. The fate of these people is in your hands - you can sell them to a buyer of prisoners, a slave trader, or persuade them to join your squad.

Your squad window is invoked by pressing the key P... The upper right corner shows the cells that are occupied by heroes or mercenaries. One cell can be occupied by your character, a hero from the squad, or 20 mercenaries. The maximum size of your squad is also indicated here. On the left side of the window, all the skills of your squad are listed - first your character goes, and then all the hired heroes.

Battles

"Up the nearby hill, Vivienne, climb yourself
Yes, quickly count, a lot of rati
At Derame on ships and in the camp. "
Vivienne to him: “No, I will not count,
A better helmet I'll fix it on my head
Yes, I will give spurs and hit the enemies,
My uncle taught me how to act. "

"Song of Guillaume"

When two enemy units meet on the world map, a battle will break out between them. If one of the parties is your ally and the other is the enemy, you can join the battle and help your own. You can also unleash a battle yourself by attacking the enemy or waiting for an attack. After the start of the battle, you will be able to take several actions, depending on the occupied sides.

  • Retreat... There will be no battle, and there will be no losses on either side. You will not always be able to retreat, especially if your squad is too slow or if the enemy is significantly outnumbered.
  • Send people... If you have several people under your command, you can send them into battle without entering it yourself. Care must be taken, however - usually your units do not fight at full strength without you. Having entered the battle personally, you will no longer be able to leave it until your or the enemy's forces are defeated, and if you have a large enough squad, you can simply crush the enemy with numbers.
  • Attack the enemy... Lead your people into battle. The groups with which you will enter the battle are selected randomly, but this choice depends on their position in your list: those who are listed first have more chances to appear on the battlefield, therefore, before starting the battle, it is recommended to change the list using the "Up "And" Down ".

If you have joined the battle already begun, you will command a mixed army, consisting of both yours and allied soldiers. If you encounter a battle between two sides neutral to you, then it is better not to interfere. The battlefield is not the best place for politics and spontaneous decisions.

Battle phases

The battle takes place in several phases, depending on the "Battle Size", which you define in the settings. The "size of the battle" determines how many groups can be on the battlefield at a time. This limitation is divided between the two sides in accordance with the combat advantage, which, in turn, depends on the size of each side and the development of its skills.

Warriors wounded in one phase will remain wounded until the end of the battle, and their health level will also remain when moving from one phase to another (although health may recover slightly depending on how well your first aid skill is). After each phase, you will have the opportunity to leave the battlefield, but at the same time you will not be able to collect trophies from enemies that you managed to kill.

During the entire time of the battle, new soldiers will appear on the field. After the start of the battle, either side can receive reinforcements, but this only applies to those troops that unleashed the battle - the other group from the world map will not be able to join them.

The battle phase ends when the troops of one of the parties, including reinforcements, are completely defeated (dead or unconscious). Also, the battle ends when all the warriors of one side are killed or wounded.

If you are at a considerable distance from the enemy after the start of the battle, you can press the key at any time. Tab and retreat. But this way you can still lose people: they can be injured or killed during the retreat. Leave the battlefield only when the situation becomes completely hopeless.

Commands

As a squad leader, you can give him orders in battle. First, choose who to give the command to:

  • Key 1 : everyone who is on the field, regardless of the type of troops.
  • Key 2 : Archers and all foot soldiers fighting from a distance.
  • Key 3 : to infantry - to foot soldiers who are engaged in close combat.
  • Key 4 : cavalry - to horse soldiers.
  • Key 5 : companions - any heroes in your squad.

You can also form groups for ease of management:

  • If you hold down the key Ctrl and press the number key, then you will combine the selected group with the one that was previously selected. For example, if you want to give a command to infantry and archers at the same time, then first press 3 , and then - Ctrl + 2.
  • Key 6 you can select all soldiers that are not included in the group you selected.

After choosing a group of soldiers, you can give them the command:

  • Key F1- keep the position. Ordering your people to stay close to where you are. If they have a long-range weapon, they will shoot with it, but will not engage in melee until the enemy gets too close. This command is useful if you want your people to defend a piece of land. For example, if your squad is mostly infantry, they can stand on a steep slope and defend against enemy cavalry.
  • Key F2- follow me. Ordering your people to follow you or come to you and stay as close as possible.
  • Key F3- attack! Order your men to break formation and chase the enemy one by one.
  • Key F4- dismount. Order your men to dismount and fight on their feet if the terrain is not conducive to equestrian combat.
  • Key F5- to sit astride. Cancel the dismount order and order your cavalrymen to mount their horses again. If a horse has lost its owner, the one who knows how to ride will ride it.
  • Key F6- ten steps forward. Order your men to take 10 steps towards the enemy and stop.
  • Key F7- ten steps back. Order your people to take 10 steps back and stop.
  • Key F8- to group. Ordering your people to close the distance between themselves. This command is especially useful when preparing infantry for a cavalry charge.
  • Key F9- to spread out. Order your people to stand apart from each other. This command is useful when attacking enemy archers or crossbowmen.

Defeat

Sometimes the enemy is too strong for you. Any of your defeat has extremely bad consequences for you - they can only range from "catastrophic" to "unpleasant". If you yourself did not go into battle, but sent your fighters forward - as soon as they are defeated, the enemy will certainly try to attack you. If you personally led your squad, were wounded and left the battle - your soldiers can pull you out of the junkyard and provide first aid, after which you can again decide whether to continue the battle or retreat. If your troops were defeated, your horse was killed, and you yourself received a helmet with a club, all your property will go to the winner, your surviving soldiers will be captured, and slavery awaits you personally.

Victory

If you won, you can take all the property of the defeated enemy. Please note that you will probably have to share trophies with your allies, depending on how much their forces outnumbered yours. Trophies are divided into several categories. First of all, these are prisoners. They can be sold into slavery, or you can attach them to your squad. For noble captives, you will certainly be offered a ransom. The number of enemies captured alive depends on the popularity of bludgeoning weapons in your squad - the active use of clubs and clubs greatly increases the chances that the enemy will be stunned more often. You can also free the captives of your enemy and take them into your squad. All the luggage of the enemy also goes to the disposal of your squad. You will only take a part of the trophies for yourself, since your fighters have a legal share in the division of the spoils. The most important trophy is experience. As a commander and commander, you get most of the experience, heroes in your service will receive a lower percentage, and mercenaries receive the smallest increase in experience.

World map

Thus gathered all the kings and dukes and noble emirs, sixteen monarchs in all, and they arrived in Rome, and with them people without number. Upon learning of their arrival, the emperor ordered to equip all his noble Romans and all soldiers from Rome to Flanders. And he also took with him fifty giants, born of the devil, - he left them with his person in order to break through the front ranks of Artur's army; they were so heavy that the horses could not carry them. And with all this terrible army, Lucius moved through Allemania, wanting to destroy the lands of Arthur, which he and his knights conquered in fair battle.

Thomas Malory, Death of Arthur

To open the map, click Tab(if your character is in the city and you control it) or click on the "Exit" button (if you have the city menu open). Moving around the world map is very easy - just left-click on the desired place or city and wait for your squad to move there. It will take some time to move, but you can pause at any time by pressing "Space".

Your squad is not the only one in the world, and during your travels around the world you will meet many other groups. Some of them will be friendly to you, some will be hostile, and some will not care about you. If, instead of a city or other place on the map, you left-click on any group, then your entire squad will follow it.

Each unit has its own color, indicating their faction. The number above the group means how many people are in it, and if there is another number nearby (for example, "+8"), then it means the number of prisoners in this detachment. To get more detailed information about a group, just hold the cursor over it. For example, the inscription "33/38 + 6" means that there are 38 people in the group in total, of which 33 are fit for battle (5 wounded), and this group leads six more prisoners with it.

The distance at which you will notice foreign groups depends on the vigilance of your squad. If this skill is well developed, then you will be able to notice the enemy first, which will give you an advantage in battle. At night, tracking down alien units is more difficult for both you and your enemies.

If someone in your squad has the skill of tracking, then colored arrows will appear on the ground. These are the footprints left by the group that passed here, and the arrows show the direction in which this group was moving. The color means the age of the trail (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue), and the size of the arrow corresponds to the size of the group. For more detailed information hover the cursor over the trail, and if the tracking in your squad is well developed, you can find out how many people were in the past group and even who they were.

Speed

The speed of your movement on the world map depends on six factors:

  • Squad size... The more people in the squad, the slower it will move.
  • Type of fighters in the squad... Horse warriors move much faster than foot soldiers, and if your entire squad consists of horsemen, then his speed will be higher. Please note that the speed of movement on the map is not affected by the breed of the horse, but only by the rider's ability to ride. The speed of the foot soldiers is influenced by the athletics skill, and thus the elite troops move around the map faster than the recruits. The speed of movement on the map is the average value between the speed of the slowest warrior in the unit and the total speed of the unit.
  • Carry weight... If you are selling bulky goods or just carrying a lot of things, it is best to buy some inexpensive horses that you can load your luggage on. Pack animals increase the speed of your squad simply by being in your inventory.
  • Terrain type and weather... The squad moves faster on level ground during the daytime. Movement speed will decrease at night or in the forest.
  • The morale of the squad... The happier your warriors are, the more they will give their best along the way.
  • With each new level team skill"Charting a Course" your squad's movement speed will increase by 3%.

Sometimes speed can be a matter of life and death - but this, of course, depends on the type of your squad. If you do not have warriors capable of repelling an enemy attack, then it is better to move as quickly as possible. Ideally, your squad should be strong enough to attack someone and fast enough to hide from overwhelming enemy forces.

Battles

The count looked at the godless blacks

And he sees that they are black ink.
Only the color of the teeth of the Basurmans is white.
Roland said, "Barons, believe me,
We're all going to be here.
Frenchmen, beat the infidels more boldly. "
"A coward who will lag behind!" - said Olivier
And he rushed to the enemy.

"Song of Roland"

As soon as you decide to fight for fame and fortune, then get ready for numerous battles. They require solid training - you must be confident in both your fighting skills and the strength of your squad.

Types and features of weapons

Each type of weapon includes several items of the same type, and if you have developed the ability to handle this type of weapon, you can use any of them. What type of weapon to choose is up to you, but some items require special handling.

Wounds

The count saw - Thurpen was thrown to the ground,
The insides fall out of the body,
The brain oozes, flows to the forehead from the wound,
And on the chest, between the clavicles of the prelate,
Hands turn white, folded crosswise.

"Song of Roland"

There are three types of injuries:

  • Chopping... It is applied with sharp blades such as sabers and axes. Slashing weapons do the most damage.
  • Stabbing... Drawn with point-edged weapons such as spears, thrusting swords, and arrows. Piercing weapons are the best for piercing armor.
  • Crushing... Drawn with weapons that strike and break without causing open wounds, such as clubs and hammers. Blunt damage can also be inflicted by a horse, trampling an enemy. With a crushing weapon, you can beat the enemy until they lose consciousness, but at the same time he will remain alive, and then you can take him prisoner. As well as piercing weapons, blunts penetrate armor well.

If you have enabled the option "Show damage", then with each blow you will be shown the damage done or received, which can be very useful in training.

The amount of damage you deal and take depends on several factors. First of all, of course, on the damage indicator of your weapon - it varies from half to maximum. For example, if a club deals 20 damage, this means that with each hit, it will deal 10 to 20 damage. If you are good with this weapon, then the damage will be closer to the maximum. Also, the damage done is increased due to your skills: "Power Strike" affects melee weapons, and "Power Shot / Throw" - on long-range weapons.

In Game Mount & blade a physics model is used, which, when calculating damage, takes into account the speed of your weapon and the direction in which it is directed. The result of these calculations will be referred to as "extra speed". If you move to the left relative to the enemy, then you will inflict more damage with a blow from right to left (in the opposite direction of the enemy's movement). Most types of weapons will do more damage in the middle stage of the strike: for example, the spear pierces the enemy better not on the first thrust, but after you make some effort. Your additional speed can be positive (then the damage will increase) or negative (then the damage will decrease), it can double the damage from your hit or negate it.

The extra speed is extremely important for ranged weapons. During the flight, the ammunition will lose its initial velocity and, therefore, inflict much less damage. If, on the contrary, you throw an ax while riding a horse, then such a blow can kill the enemy outright, because the horse's speed will be added to the speed of the flying weapon.

It is also important where you hit the target. Usually, the blow falls in the place you are looking at, so if you want to hit the legs, aim down, and if on the head, then aim up. A kick to the legs will generally do less damage than a kick to the head.

Enemy armor reduces the damage you deal. After processing data about your skills, weapon quality and impact speed, the game will give you "base damage". Armor has a defense parameter that reduces this damage: from cutting damage, a value is subtracted from half to the maximum protection parameter, from piercing or blunt damage - from a quarter to half. For example, if the armor parameter of armor is 20 and a cutting blow is inflicted on it, then it will be 10-20 units weaker. If a piercing or crushing blow is applied to such armor, then it will be weaker by 5-10 units. In addition to direct protection against damage, armor also provides a certain percentage of protection.

Close combat

In close combat, it is necessary to correctly use the shield or put blocks. The condition of the shield must be constantly monitored, because even the strongest of them can only withstand a limited number of blows.

If you don't have a shield, then you just have to fend off enemy attacks with a weapon using the right mouse button. At a time, you can only parry one blow from one side (top, side, etc.). If a long-range weapon is opened at you, then you will not be able to block these attacks. In order to block an attack, you need to closely monitor the enemy and what kind of blow he is going to inflict, and then immediately place a block.

It usually takes time to strike - you need to attack in such a way as to bypass the enemy's defenses, be it a shield or a weapon. Do not attack chaotically and hope for luck - this will only lead to the fact that you yourself get injured. The main thing in battle is patience. Wait for the enemy to lower his shield or stagger back, then take a step forward and deliver your blow.

Fight from a distance

Archers and crossbowmen cannot wear shields, as they must hold a weapon with both hands. If you are using a throwing weapon, you can take a shield in your other hand.

In order to shoot from a long-range weapon, turn to face the target and hold down the left mouse button. A crosshair will appear on the screen - a large white ring that will gradually shrink. If you are shooting from a bow, then the left mouse button must be released at the moment when the ring shrinks to a minimum: after waiting too long, you will get tired of holding the bow, and your hands will begin to tremble. In order to get more time to aim, you need to develop the skill of archery. When using a crossbow and throwing weapons, you can aim as long as you like, because you do not need to constantly hold the string taut.

The force of gravity acts on the projectiles. That is, the further you are from the enemy, the higher you need to aim in order to hit him. Here you will find it very useful to zoom in on the camera (hold down the Shift), because this way you can see where the projectile will hit, and you can correct the course. Throwing weapons fly slower, have a different arc than arrows and bolts, and have a shorter range. In addition, when shooting, you need to follow the target if it moves. Crossbows are heavier than bows, and their bolts fly farther, so you need to move a crossbow behind a moving target less than a bow.

If you shoot at an enemy who has a shield, and he sees you, then he can simply cover himself with his shield, and your shot will not touch him. The shield can be broken by methodically shooting at it, but it will take a lot of ammunition, and for this it is better to use throwing axes and spears, rather than bolted arrows.

Fight with the horseman's spear

The rider's spears and most other pole weapons can be used for a special attack while mounted on horseback. To do this, you need to accelerate the horse to high speed, take the spear by the arm and at full gallop pierce the enemy with it.

What is required for this? Above all, your horse must be able to accelerate to an average speed (6) or more, so it will not work on a lame mule. Also, your horse must be agile enough to be able to perform a maneuver if necessary and help you hit the target more accurately. Well, of course, you will need a polearm: the horsemen's spear, a simple spear, a pitchfork and much more will do. It is preferable to take longer weapons, because despite the fact that a short weapon does more damage, with a long one you will be able to reach the enemy before he himself strikes you. DO NOT PRESS THE ATTACK BUTTON! The spear strike is delivered automatically if you have suitable weapon and sufficient speed. As you approach the enemy, you will need to turn the horse in order to hit the enemy with a spear.

Horseback Fight

When attacking a pedestrian enemy with one or two-handed weapons (not polearms!), It is best to strike a slashing blow at the moment when you are driving past, and not when the enemy is slightly ahead. Sitting on horseback, you will be able to grab a two-handed melee weapon with only one hand, which will reduce your attack speed and damage done. Spears in mounted combat are used in a slightly different way - when you are ready to strike, you can direct the point in any direction with the mouse.

Enemies can also be trampled by a horse, which can be very useful in battle. If a horse hits an enemy with its hoof at a decent speed, it will inflict "crushing" damage and can knock out the enemy, so you get the opportunity to take him prisoner. If the enemy has a shield, then the horse can push him away, and at that moment you can strike until the enemy closes again. Please note that if the enemy on foot is armed with a spear, it will not be so easy to attack him, because he will reach you first. If your horse receives a strong blow to the chest with a spear, it will stop, and if you are also surrounded at that moment, then you may find yourself in very great danger.

Fight with the horsemen

It is good to advise how to trample the unfortunate infantryman with a horse, but what if the infantryman is you? A warhorse's strength lies in its speed. Therefore, in the fight against the rider, you need to use any terrain features: hollows, steep hills, rocks - which will prevent the horse from accelerating. It is best to engage in combat with mounted warriors in the forest or in shallow water. The second important point is the use of polearms. Having received a strong blow from the spear in the chest, the horse will stop or even fall. The main thing is to calculate the moment - when the horse rushes on the point of the spear, it should be set as far as possible in order to inflict maximum damage at the maximum safe distance. If you wait too long, you will not have time to properly set the spear or the horse will stop beforehand and its rider will attack you. If you put out the spear too early, then the blow will fall into the void, the horse will not stop, and you will be knocked down and trampled.
