Review of the game nfs most wanted 2

An intriguing crime story will become the main "clue" of the new race from the NFS series: illegal races, "setup", prison and a wonderful chance to re-fly into the skies of the auto racing elite.

Gameplay

The NFS series needs no special introduction. Therefore, let's go straight to the impressions of the demo version. Most Wanted is a successor to the Hot Pursuit branch, i.e. the main trump card of the game is rivalry with the police officers. Visually, the game repeats Underground 2, but the gameplay is characterized by the "cop" content.

Modes

From the main menu, you can select the type of game, namely Blacklist, Quick race and Challenge series. The Blacklist section in the demo version is implemented in the form of a video lure, therefore, nothing particularly concrete can be said about it, however, it is known from external sources that it will be a kind of career, the purpose of which is to advance to the top of the "cop" blacklist (Blacklist) to the Most Wanted status, i.e. "most wanted by the police". The list consists of 16 positions, each of which is occupied by one of the rivals, which is to be "knocked out". To advance higher, you need to win a series of various races (up to 10 for each Blacklist item), in varying degrees involving different game modes, such as circuit races, driving from point A to point B (sprint). Get ready to try new things: Speedtrap and Tollbooth racing, not to mention the classic running from the police and its variation in the form of Roadblock. All in all, Blacklist is a mixture - a little bit of everything.

In addition to the "mix", as in the previous Hot Pursuit and Hot Pursuit 2, the game provides "clean" sections "no police" and "with the police". "No Police" is a Quick Race with adjustment of the traffic difficulty on the roads and the number of opponents. Here, the races are devoid of the participation of the traffic police (at least in the demo version), but the Challenge series races, on the contrary, take place with the active participation of cops.

Now a little more about the fresh racing modes. Loops and sprints are nothing new. In Speedtrap, you start with a group of "comrades". The race takes place on a clearly marked track equipped with photo-radars. The challenge here is to pass each radar camera as fast as possible. Why photo radar? Because according to the concept of the game, he can be trusted and his readings are proof of your "coolness", well, not about that ... So, the readings of the passed photo-radars are summed up and determine your position in the race rating (table at the top right of the screen). At the end of the race, the results are summed up and the fastest "offender" wins according to the results of the photo session. Another option for using police evidence as evidence is Tollbooth mode. In fact, this is a normal race with checkpoints in the form of checkpoints. Here, not the maximum speed of passing a point is recorded, but the time from one point to another is measured. Less is better. Now, from the passive participation of the police in the race, we will move on to active participation.

The game fully implements the classic running from the police. At your disposal is a radar (at the top of the screen) and a kind of position difficulty analyzer (at the bottom of the screen). The larger the bar on the top radar, the closer you are to a law enforcement officer, be it a cop car or a photo radar. The analyzer at the bottom of the screen is a scale, filling which to the left in red brings your "end" (the hated "busted") closer, and to the right - means the probability of complete release from police pursuit. The strip is constantly moving and changing depending on the situation. In addition, the map at the bottom left of the screen is equipped with a kind of fire icon with a digital index. It shows how much "they want" to catch you. The larger this figure, the more serious measures will be applied to you and the more aggressive the police will behave - apparently that is why there is no possibility of choosing the difficulty level in the races of the Challenges section. As a rule, it all starts with a banal group of cops on the tail, but with an increase in the index, a series of cars will appear, blocking the road, and the cars will be of different weight categories, again depending on the level of alarm. In the full version, various stopping devices such as spike strips, blocks and traditional helicopters are waiting for us. A variation of "cop" races is the Roadblock mode, where you need to break through several "fences" from police cars that blocked the road. In Pursuit Length mode, you need to keep the cops on your tail for some time (at least a minute in the demo), and therefore hide. Yes, the peculiarity of the police regime is precisely the ability to hide. When the police lose sight of you, the bottom analyzer is converted into a single scale, which gradually fills with a blue line and symbolizes the "finality" of the police losing you. In addition, blue rotating circles appear on the map - in these places you can safely hide. The subtlety is that if you try to "finally" hide in Roadblock mode, then the race will be lost if you have not passed the specified number of "cordons", therefore, in it, as soon as you get rid of the cops, hurry to show them up again.

The city map is really big. Not so huge, but big enough to feel free flight. In some game modes, the entire map is open, and in some, only a "white line" is drawn with several small branches and paths for cutting. It is also possible that the branches of the map are blocked gradually during the race, which makes maneuvering a little more difficult (Roadblock mode).

"Chips"

The game has a "time dilation" function. The notorious "bullet-time" haunts the developers, so in NFSMW you can press the right Ctrl and slow down what is happening. The resource "slower" is limited, but the stock is replenished. The situation is similar with "nitro". Damage in this game is the lot of the cops. You may only experience cosmetic damage to the glass and bodywork that does not affect your driving performance. At the same time, police cars may well be full of broken hoods and fenders, up to damage "incompatible with life." One more interesting opportunity the game is the presence of traps. They are marked on the map with red triangles and allow you to do nasty things to the pursuers. For example, such a symbol can indicate a support of a small wooden structure, knocking down which, you will collapse the entire structure (behind you) and spoil the lives of the cops for a short time, and if you are lucky, you will also incapacitate someone. There is no need to talk about the realism of the surrounding world: everything is easily destroyed or flies off, from small objects on the road, ending with lampposts, stops public transport and wooden fences. Oncoming cars in a head-on collision fly off like soccer balls. The only danger is represented by large stone structures, large trees, etc., and the danger is not in damage (which does not exist), but in delay. Having rested against such a design, of course, you can press R and reappear on the road, but it is not recommended to abuse this button in cop society - the chances of being "busted" are very high.

During the game you collect points for which you will purchase upgrades, body kit and new cars. Unfortunately, there is not a word about tuning in the demo version, but you can feel the difference between the base and the tuned version of the car in QuickRace, where the Ford Mustang and Porsche Cayman S will appear in both versions. The full version will make it possible to drive around cars of the brands Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Corvette, Cadillac, Pontiac, Vauxhall, Cobalt, Lamborghini, Lotus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Renault, Subaru, Lexus , Toyota, VW.

Graphics and sound

The graphics have been and still are the virtue of the entire NFS series and this game in particular. In addition to the standard gorgeous lighting, effects and models, you can see falling foliage, migratory birds, the effect of rain, and with a long race the time of day changes, from morning to evening and vice versa - there is no night. The effect of speed is rendered flawlessly even on those not the fastest models available in the demo. The starting rollers show the darkening of the windows, the driver is visible and even the leather upholstery of the car's interior is visible. The detention video (when you are "busted") is generally a separate topic for the dissertation: as always, humorous and beautiful. The policeman behaves at ease, can give a slap on the head, and the face of the detainee is hidden in the style of operational video filming.

The sound design is traditionally excellent. It is especially pleasant to hear the deep low sounds of engines, growls and pops of mufflers, and the change in color of the sound in closed and open spaces only adds realism. Special interesting moment are police negotiations, which, in addition to sounding very realistic and "meaningful", create the proper atmosphere, but also make it possible to fight them more effectively. The music is pleasantly surprising. In addition to dynamic and even military-patriotic melodies that create the appropriate mood, sometimes you can hear mysterious light music on the main menu, clearly hinting at huge problems that still have to be solved in the game.

A spoon of tar…

Briefly about the unpleasant. There is no view from the cockpit - this is certainly an amateur, but still. There is no need to talk about any realism of driving - the arcade is 100%. There are no repetitions in the game - it's a shame with such gorgeous graphics and dizzying pirouettes that sometimes you manage to perform. The lack of replays is compensated by episodic cinematic views from the external camera, which are pretty confusing. The same applies to the police cordon breaking video, which always looks beautiful, but after returning to the cockpit, as a rule, you face a completely unexpected situation on the road. In terms of gameplay, such a thing was noticed: in Roadblock mode, when you need to break through 6 police cordons, it is much easier to go into the city and find a ring road so as not to complicate your life, driving around the entire map and risking getting caught in a new place - but you will have to all over again start off. Having found a "circular" (a certain conventional circle on the map), you can wind circles at full speed, slightly tweaking the steering wheel, and from time to time break through the cordons: it is tiresome but effective, but the developers are "minus". How many more of these "nuances" will emerge? Probably a lot.

Output

The game is undoubtedly "worthy" thanks to the cops - there is so much you can do for them. Dynamic gameplay, super-speeds and a promising fleet of cars, which are worth a lot to tune. The undoubted advantage of the game is the breadth of the audience: both children and adults will have something to have fun with. That only is the introductory campaign phrase of a cute super-model, which hints that you guys are here to come off 100%, and drive on the roads correctly and responsibly. And she winked slyly ...

After the not very successful continuation of the franchise Need for speed , EA Black Box stayed after school, grieving and pondering my behavior. The continuation of the series was entrusted to the authors of the well-known, Criterion Games... The studio was provided with a fairly strong tool - a time machine, thanks to which they were supposed to return exactly to 2005, when NFS has not yet begun to be ill. What is the new remake, you will find out in our review.

Paradise Honesty.

The game takes place in the open city of Fairhaven, where sports cars, crossovers, supercars and even race cars coexist on the streets. Residents of Chestnonebensk are all good-quality racers of an elite ambassador, ten of whom are so cool that it would be a sin not to knock off kilograms of arrogance from them. Such a pastime is offered to users who may prematurely start nodding their heads in approval, because the same tie was provided to us in the original Most Wanted... There is no need to rush to conclusions - the list of similarities does not increase with a more detailed study of the project.

Sports cars, crossovers, supercars and even race cars coexist on the streets of the city. To challenge the enemy to the competition, you need to collect a certain number of Speed Points, which the player receives when winning races. Plot? No, in the new project it is completely absent, and one could not pay attention to this, after all, arcade races are presented to the public. But behind the shoulders of this very public is the knowledge of how accessible and logical narration can be. It is not necessary to hire live actors for cinematic videos in the manner, just a little textual support, like incoming SMS in - and voila, a full-fledged plot is ready. What can we say about the old Most Wanted, where a primitive story was organically blended into the gameplay of arcade racing.

But even with the gameplay itself, the British did not make it into the top ten. Four. Only four types of races are implemented in the game. Sprint and circuit races can be easily combined into one - we go fast, overtaking rivals that are not going fast. Run mode will offer a trip from point A to point B, in which you need to show maximum result average speed. The fourth kind of confrontation is a distinctive dish of the program, which completely covers the theme of the remake.

The plot in the game is completely absent. The so-called "ambush" is a race from the police. During such a confrontation, you can completely forget about your driver skills, relying only on the work of scripts Most Wanted sample of 2012. It doesn't matter if you are driving a Ford GT or McLaren MP4 - the servants of the law can still travel at the speed of light, respawning on the tail immediately after an accident. There are no destructible objects here that can help get rid of the pursuers. It remains to rely only on a coincidence of circumstances.

Losk Bridge.

Virtual rivals have the same superiority - it costs them nothing to ram a police outpost or turn your vehicle in a pile of scrap metal. The latter is especially offensive, since the implementation of car models in Most Wanted just amazing. You can't take your eyes off any car, of which there are more than four dozen here. Each of them is available from the very beginning of the game, you just need to find it, parked somewhere in the open spaces open world... For any car, five races are available, for winning in which both Speed Points and items for tuning are issued, which could not have been entered into the game. If it is possible to change the car for another at any time, the choice of two or three variants of parts does not matter.

In addition to excellent vehicles, the game boasts a control model that will appeal to fans of arcade racing, and its beautiful appearance. Screensavers before key races can easily be used in car advertisements, because they sometimes surpass the showrils of flagship design studios in quality. The flip side of the coin: the authors redesigned themselves. The need to view the crash animation and turn off the start screen saver is at the expense of the race restart time.

The implementation of car models in Most Wanted is amazing. Multiplayer has also decided not to abide by the franchise, offering users a series of challenges. The coveted competitions begin when all their participants reach the starting point in the endless expanses of Fairhaven, which is unacceptable in a global network. Whoever went to drink tea, who is more interesting to travel around the open world - will have to wait for everyone. And the tests themselves are a chaos session, far from the classic races on the track. Who has drift longer, who has a higher jump, who will drive further away from rivals - all tasks are delivered randomly. Online play would be more fun if it was more organized.

Most Wanted- by no means a bad game. This is a noteworthy race from the authors Burnout which, in fact, Burnout and is. Excellent soundtrack, nice physics and picture, and complete disregard for the canons of the genre Need for speed... Fans of the series have every moral right with a sour face and a clear conscience to wait for a more successful continuation of the once flagship franchise. However, the rest of the fans of arcade racing are simply obliged to familiarize themselves with the project.

In 2005, after the release of the next racing arcade from the NFS series, the developers received many positive reviews from ordinary players. The game turned out to be really successful and was liked by a large number of gamers who have played the previous games in the NFS series. Since the release of the original Need for Speed: Most Wanted about 7 years have passed. The developers, making the 2005 remake, changed a lot, improved and radically reworked some elements of the gameplay, but the general features remained the same.

Graphics

One of the main differences from the 2005 game is the stunning graphics. At maximum graphics settings, everything just sparkles. The sun's rays bounce off the wet road surface and a little blinding the drivers driving to the meeting. The quality of car detailing is also excellent. This applies not only to the cars of the players, but also to normal road traffic, which was not the case in NFS: MW 2005. Cutting through the streets of the metropolis, sometimes it seems that you are watching a movie, everything is so realistic. To all this, for even greater realism, there is only one thing missing - the view from the cockpit.

City

City in Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 new and open from the start, there are no restrictions. Nothing prevents the driver just to network into the car and study it completely, without delving into any details and without thinking why some translucent shield in the middle of the road does not allow him to move on, as it was in NFS: MW 2005. This is not here. At first glance, the city seems large, but after several dozen races you start to remember the "old streets". The developers of NFS: MW 2012 put quality in the first place when creating the city, not scale. The city, although not as big as we would like, is made at a fairly high level with many small destructible objects, trampolines and billboards.

Cars

Number of cars in Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 not so much, about 40 pieces in total, but almost all of them are open from the very beginning. Cars in the game are scattered around whole map in several copies, but all of them are initially hidden. As soon as the player drives up to the car, he can immediately change into it and continue to explore the city already on it. After opening the car, the corresponding icon appears on the map, after which it becomes available in the "Easy Drive" menu with which you can quickly change from one car to another.

Car tuning

All cars in NFS: MW 2012 do not initially have any improvements. To get some improvements for the car, which are presented in the form of perks, you need to take prizes in various tests and races. For each prize, the player receives one perk. If you take first place, then you will fight and get all the perks that can be earned in this test. Each car has a total of 5 performance perks, each of which is divided into three more - one normal (factory) and two improved options. It is these improved perks that the player receives for prizes in competitions. Improved perks, in contrast to the usual, can be "pumped", completed some specific task, and get the mark "pro".

Visual tuning in NFS: MW 2012 is completely absent, except for painting the car. On the one hand, the developers can understand that the cars in the game look great and completely resemble their real counterparts. Why tinker with an already superb car? But, on the other hand, there are no excellent things and you can always improve something, make the car individual. The lack of visual tuning is a bit upsetting. Perhaps in the future, the developers will introduce it in the form of DLC, but the chances of this are few. It should also be noted that the color of the car painting can be changed, but it cannot be selected, it is chosen at random from several prepared ones.

Easy drive

Easy Drive is a new multifunctional quick access menu. With the help of this menu, in just a few keystrokes, the player can change his car to some other, previously opened one, change the installed perks, start the next competition, if it was already open earlier. This menu also serves to search for new competitions that have not yet been opened, and it happens as follows: you select a competition and the built-in navigator shows you the shortest path to the starting line, after reaching the goal, the competition starts.

Gameplay

At the beginning Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 the player is offered to open his first car and little by little they talk about the situation. As soon as the player opens his first car, he gets access to 5 competitions, for the first two prize places and it is rewarded with pre-prepared performance perks. In total, the game features several types of competitions: sprint, circular races, chases, passing the track, taking into account the average speed and two stages of fights with bosses - a regular sprint and a crash race, the main goal of which is to crash the car defeated boss... After destroying the boss car, of which there are only 10 in the game, instead of 15 from NFS: MW 2005, the player gains access to this car in the Easy Drive menu and can change into it at any time.

There is only one game currency in the game - Speed Points, which the player gets for everything: winning competitions, crashed police cars and various achievements. Speed Points are not consumed and are only needed to gain access to boss races. The number of Speed Points for each boss is different, the more difficult the boss, the more points are needed to access the competition.

Single player game

You will not be able to complete a single player game without participating in the chases all the time with just one car, even though almost all cars are open from the very beginning of the game. The thing is that only five types of competitions are available for each car, that is, one car can earn a maximum of 60,000 Speed Points, after which it will receive a full set of performance tuning. For each of the three prizes, except for performance tuning, they give 4,000 Speed Points and 500 for all the following times, if they manage to break the previously set record. More and more are needed to open the boss competitions of these Speed Points the closer you get to the top of the list. The second reason you can't complete a single player game Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 on just one car, the limited characteristics of the cars are. Even on the fastest car available at the beginning of the game, it is almost impossible to overtake some bosses.

Chase

Chase in Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 are of three types. A regular chase can be started simply by breaking the rules. road traffic in front of the patrol car - they will put you on the wanted list and the chase will begin. The second type of chase starts automatically during other challenges and races. The third type of chase is a timed chase. This competition is only available for certain vehicles. For him, in addition to the usual Speed Points, they also give performance perks. For all three types of chases, crashing police cars, violating traffic rules and damaging property, you are credited with Speed Points, but you will only get them if you can break away from the pursuit, otherwise you will not get anything.

In NFS: Most Wanted 2005, various destructible objects and cooling (separation) points were scattered across the entire map, which helped to break away from the pursuit. There is none of this here. To break away from the chase, the player must rely only on their driving skills. As soon as the player manages to break away a little, he goes into cooling mode, during which the wanted level is lowered. To lower the wanted level more quickly in cooling mode, you can use car services, after driving through which the car is repainted and repaired, as well as nitrogen refueling, the wanted level is reduced by 1. For an even faster separation, to lower the wanted level by 2 at once, the player you need to find and transfer to another car.

There are 6 levels of wanted list in the game. At the maximum level, it becomes many times more difficult to break away, since super heavy, armored cars that cannot be smashed or rammed on any of all join the pursuit available to the player auto. Each car, it should be noted, has a certain weight and level of stiffness, which can be slightly increased with the help of perks. Depending on these two characteristics, each car can withstand a certain impact force, exceeding which the player is shown a several-second cut-scene in which his car is crashed. After a breakdown or collision, the car receives only visual damage, which does not affect its behavior in any way.

conclusions

Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 very good arcade races with stunning graphics, a beautiful city and many licensed cars. Management here is more simulator than arcade. There is no plot in the game at all, there is only a small introduction to the course of the case, which helps new players who have not played NFS: MW 2005 to figure it out. The soundtracks in the game are few and boring quickly. It also lacks such modes as drift and drag, but there is a high probability that they will be added in the form of DLC. NFS: MW 2012 is sure to please you if you have a lot of fond memories after completing NFS: The Run, the previous game in the NFS series.
  • Forty-three cars of different parameters. To replenish the car fleet with them, you need to find them in the city - they can meet in the most unexpected places. Sometimes you have to complete a specific mission in order to get admission to a specific car;
  • The network game makes it possible to measure strength not only with computer opponents, but also with real ones;
  • More freedom of action - travel throughout the city by completing additional missions, or focus on the passage of the main plot;
  • Unmatched graphics - the developers tried to work out everything with high quality, from cars to buildings and other details of the landscape.

Gameplay

During the passage of "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" the gamer will have to take part in dozens of races. You can just drive around the city, perform various stunts and get experience points for this. But it is advisable to drive carefully (unless the completion of the task involves breaking the rules), because a collision, driving in the oncoming lane or at a red traffic light is punishable. The police will chase the hero. It is necessary to change the car to get rid of the chase. Otherwise, the status of the chase will increase - the best forces of the city police will be sent to the rescue. They will block roads, install spikes or even throw them out of a special van so that the rider will damage the wheels and will not be able to accelerate or maneuver. Finding cars in unexpected places, you can enrich your car fleet with them. True, to get some, you have to gain a certain rating.

Plot overview

The scenario itself, of course, consists of races. To complete the story missions, the player must find a place where illegal races are held. If he is chased by the police for a violation, then he will not be able to take part in the race - first he will have to get rid of the tail. But then you can compete with the enemy in speed, agility and reaction. Having overtaken the enemy, you need to smash his car with several powerful blows. So you can get not only a new car in the collection, but also certain improvements that allow you to increase the maneuverability, handling or speed of the car. Dozens of races combined with many additional tasks make the passage really addictive.

Immediately and in the forehead: this is not the same, and not even close. Well, that is, absolutely. So put aside nostalgia! Criterion Games, which are currently in charge of all games Need series for Speed, took from the original only the concept with the most wanted riders to defeat. Otherwise, it's more of a remake. with real machines than the newer part of NFS.

New rules

It is not clear, however, why EA relaunched Most Wanted, which actually did not need that, but apparently this is now. On the other hand, the Most Wanted concept is best suited for social racing (and this is how the game positions itself). The vast, eventful and open city of Fairhaven from the very beginning, which is flooded with street racers of varying degrees of wanted, is not a reason to compete with your friends?

Not to say that Most Wanted is boring to ride alone. There is something to do - defeat the ten most wanted and take the first place in the police top, find all the cars that are parked in far from the most obvious places, zip past all the photo radars at breakneck speed, break through all the billboards ... Criterion canceled garages (admire the new "Viper" or "Lancer" will have to be right on the street), and thanks to this, there was an excellent incentive to explore the city, where, by the way, there is something to see. Fairhaven is eye-catching for its countryside, factories, fashionable districts, and business centers. The trails are not as diverse as in or even, but they are open - you can easily fly off some bridge or accidentally turn the wrong way. You are guided only by the GPS-navigator.

Well, "Avtolog", as always, records all your actions and achievements and promptly gives them to friends, who will certainly go right there to beat your records.

For each car, there are five competitions of varying degrees of difficulty. Winning them is awarded with improvements to tires, nitro, chassis, body and transmission. It's difficult to call this a full-fledged tuning - you are unlikely to think for a long time about which gearbox to install: long or short, there is not much choice. IN single player you can't even paint the car yourself! Only at pit stops, and even then in a random color, like everything else in the same Burnout Paradise.

After any more or less severe accident (cars, by the way, beat quite a bit), as before, the game takes a short pause, allowing your rivals to overtake you. It looked great in Hot Pursuit, but it's an open city! Somewhere before the finish line, a truck may suddenly drive around the corner, and that's it, start over.

Getting rid of unnecessary things, Criterion seem to have got carried away - there is no plot at all, and with it, at least some logic of what is happening has disappeared. What kind of conditional points do you need to accumulate in order to open a competition with a new "boss"? What are the ten most wanted? Why beat them? They don't even have names, only car models.

The plot was replaced, let's say, very conceptual videos that cast doubt on the sobriety of the director's thinking. Complete madness often happens on the screen - the city turns red, the camera takes terrible angles, police cars drive along the walls and ceiling or even fold into a huge wheel ... In general, stress is provided for everyone, and for some, maybe even depression for a few days.

Here we simply have to remind the banal thought to the pain in the cerebellum - drugs are unhealthy!

THAT'S NOT COOL: there are no giant donuts rolling along the road and other traps from the game of 2005, you cannot bring down a piece of wall or scaffolding for the cops on the roofs. It is very strange, but for some reason they decided to forget about this excellent find from the first Most Wanted.

Three cars that dear edition adores

Lamborghini Gallardo

With this car, we easily kicked the butt of six of the most wanted in a row. Which, however, is not surprising - the convertible LP 570-4 Spyder Performante (and this is the version of the supercar used in the game) develops 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds thanks to the 5.2-liter V10 engine. The car skids perfectly and, in general, is initially perfectly balanced. We put racing tires, professional aerodynamics and a long gearbox on it, thanks to which it became almost invincible over long distances (in the first half of the campaign, of course). Well, besides, as Jeremy Clarkson said about this unit in Top Gear, “ the car makes you smile". We agree with him: the speed puffs up the cheeks, and it is simply impossible not to smile.

Jaguar XKR

Our editor-in-chief Sasha Pushkar licks his lips at the British Jaguars. Because of the streamlined shapes in the first place, but also because they roar like wild cats... The Jaguar XKR is aggressive as hell, not only because of the design and 19-inch rims, but also due to its impressive weight and high rigidity. We put it in a shockproof body, put a reinforced chassis and a short gearbox, after which it turned into just the same ideal car for fans of aggressive driving. In Russia, such a "cat", by the way, costs about six million rubles.

Porsche 918 Spyder Concept

You will not see him on the streets soon (if you will see him at all), but in games he has been rolling on the roads for a long time. He was in Hot Pursuit, and, of course, looked into Most Wanted. And it's not in vain! You can only get it by defeating one of the most wanted. Most likely, you will chase him for a long time, but then not a single racer will leave you. We have pumped this car with a bias in speed and without big problems left on it from the entire city police at once. The main thing is not to get caught by police jeeps, any impact at high speed easily takes this concept off the track.

In real Porsche 918 Spyder Concept accelerates to 100 km / h in three seconds, and runs on three engines - an 8-cylinder petrol engine of 4.6 liters and a capacity of 580 hp, as well as two electric motors with a capacity of 218 hp. everyone. Porsches are planning to start mass production at the end of next year, but we can ride this cool car now. Let it be in the game.

A race without punctuation marks

On the one hand, Criterion has greatly simplified game process- no lobbies in network game, EasyDrive system, with which you can tune or change the car while driving, easy access to races ... But, on the other hand, they made it more difficult - Most Wanted turned out to be ... uncomfortable. First of all, I want to say thanks to the graphical interface: sharp shapes, ugly gradients, endless running lines from which it is difficult to read at least some information, and a HUD that takes up a lot of space on the screen and distracts from the race. And it's not so easy to understand new system- a bunch of incomprehensible symbols, unintuitive EasyDrive, many functions hidden in some unknown place ... Moreover, the control point symbols are constantly looming on the screen!

The creators of the game are clearly not fans of minimalism. There is always a lot of data and unnecessary elements on the screen, which are just unnerving. Thank goodness the brain is gradually adjusting to this eye grater.

In Most Wanted, you will no longer be able to relax after a long day at work, as we loved to do in the recent remake of Hot Pursuit. The game simply does not dispose to this. She is always in a fussy movement, does not allow her to relax, always keeps her on the edge.

It's like reading a text without any punctuation marks at all in the format of a stream of consciousness without commas and even without dots and it is not clear where to pause it is not clear where the accent is and in general it is strange to read it in one breath it turns out crumpled and the meaning slips away like water through your fingers and leaves about the same feeling after me Most Wanted, but okay, at least you get used to it, but it’s not right at once, after about an hour, you start to use EasyDrive more or less normally and have time to do everything on the go without pausing the game.

Entertaining physics

At first glance, it may seem that the physics of cars is no different from the physics in Hot Pursuit, but in reality, this is not quite the case. Yes, cars still drift too willingly, but feel heavier. We compared: we drove the "pop" Lancer Evolution X (without tuning) on Fairhaven and immediately - on one of the night tracks of Seacrest County. In the first case, the unfortunate 160 km / h was gaining for a long time, dodging traffic, running from one side of the road to the other, and with difficulty went into a controlled drift. But in the second case, everything was smooth, simple and even unusual, after ten hours of playing Most Wanted.

There are also races with the police, but, of course, not as varied as in Hot Pursuit. They are furnished like in GTA 4. Did you violate the speed limit and the police were passing by? Well, everything is now - wheels in hand, and go, go! To get away, you need to go outside the delineated area on the GPS-navigator and for some time (depending on the level of persecution) avoid contact with the police. If they get caught, all the accumulated points will be burned, which, in general, is not as scary as the confiscation of a car from the 2005 Most Wanted model. Problems with cops arise all the time, and towards the end of the single player campaign, be ready to get away from all the police in the city at once.

From Russia with love: "Marusya" conquers the world

It is even difficult to say why Nikolay Fomenko and his partners should have pushed the first domestic car Marussia (in Russian simply “Marussia”) into the NFS. But the fact remains: "Marussia", the first creation of the newly formed (2007 - not so many years have passed, right?) Marussia Motors, drives around Fairhaven and feels great there. Of course, the first thing we did was to find this car and test it in Most Wanted. Well, this is clearly one of the best cars in the game - if you can compare cars with each other in arcade races.

And what about Marusya's business in reality?

Here's how to pronounce the name of a car for foreigners? Maroussia? Marasha? They say, of course, "Marasha", but for some reason Fomenko himself, for some reason, wants his car to be called Marusha.

The price of the Marussia B2 (this particular model got into the game) ranges from five to six million rubles. For comparison: the base model Lamborghini Gallardo costs about the same. Nevertheless, 500 pre-orders have already been made, and by the spring Fomenko promises to send the car to happy buyers.

The Marusia B2 has an aggressive design (and is generally similar to the Batmobile), a carbon-fiber body, weighs a little over a ton and accelerates to 100 km / h in less than four seconds. Under the hood, the "Marusya" has a 2.8-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 420 hp, and a maximum torque of 600 Nm, which is ... rather weak for a sports car.

It is difficult to say how Fomenko's gamble will end, but rarely what newly formed companies achieve success in the field of sports car construction - tea is not Ferrari or Lamborghini there. “Marusya” also tries himself in F1, however, it has not yet achieved success there.

Each car of the most wanted racers can be taken by yourself, but for this it is not enough to win the race - then you have to catch up and crash the enemy's car. True, for some reason, after the loss, the most wanted begin to drive, like drunk monkeys under acid, crash into every pole and teleport ugly. If you lose your victim from the radar for even a second, it will disappear completely.

But the problem is solved simply - it is enough to stand idle for a few seconds, and the enemy will magically appear behind you.

Apart from this annoying (and very annoying) misunderstanding, artificial Intelligence behaves very decently: cuts, attacks vilely and tries to annoy him in every possible way. The police are especially: sometimes it is not clear who you are competing with - with other racers or with a bunch of police officers who unscrupulously push you out of the way.

However, a live opponent is always more interesting. True, your achievements from a single player game will not go into the online mode - you will have to complete special tasks and improve the cars again. Competitions on the Web go on non-stop, sometimes interrupting for a short time. What do the participants usually do during the "smoke break"? Exactly the same thing as in Burnout Paradise - they arrange derbies on the streets, of course! There are a lot of competitions - tramway jumping, ring races, sprints, team fights ... All this, of course, is fun, but not what we expected from Most Wanted.

The police will attack you only in a single game, on the web, the racers are left to their own devices. A pity, that would be fun!

Sometimes the game still manages to be a generator of happiness - when you sit down at your Porsche 918 Spyder Concept on an autumn Saturday morning, you enter the business district (the car growls gently and whistles slightly when shifting gears), the sun's rays glint on glass skyscrapers, reflected in puddles on the asphalt , and the radio includes a remix of Skrillex and The Doors. Then ... then something inside flips. But this happens less often than in Hot Pursuit, and even more so than in the first Most Wanted 2005.
