The Divine Patroness of the Brotherhood is the sinister and powerful Night Mother, who is probably already known to those who once conquered the vastness of the Imperial Province. Our fellow Brotherhood dwellers, the inhabitants of the shelter, are also specific guys. Here you will find a mad jester, and a vampire in the guise of a little girl (an obvious hello to "Interview with a Vampire"), and even a friendly frosty spider.

In addition, those who join the Brotherhood and complete its quests will have some benefit from this.

  • A hideout where you can sleep, study, forge armor - all in all, have fun.
  • The Word of Power on the wall of the hideout is a nice, albeit one-time prize.
  • A spell to summon a ghostly assassin to aid in battle.
  • The brothers are sympathetic to vampires - even if they are in the fourth stage of the disease.
  • And, perhaps, the best argument in favor of joining the Brotherhood is the unique black horse Shadowface with a huge reserve of health, quickly regenerating.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: before starting the story, take a look at Lorey's farm, north of Whiterun and the White Watchtower, and complete the Late Burial quest - he will be given out by a jester named Cicero. The guy performed the Black Ritual according to all the rules. There is nothing to do, the order must be fulfilled.

To enroll in the Dark Brotherhood of the Imperial Province, you had to kill any commoner. In Skyrim, everything is a little more complicated - you can kill even the whole city, the Brotherhood will not lead the ear. However, it is there - and you will be convinced of this if Radiant Story confronts you with assassins who have a contract with the hero's name (of course, in order to read this contract, they must first be defeated)

You will find a way to get into this mysterious organization if you hang out in taverns, talk to the children from the orphanage in Riften, or drop by Windhelm right away. In Windhelm, the easiest way to eavesdrop on a conversation is in an alley (as you enter the city, to the right). The bottom line is this: the orphaned boy Aventus Aretino escaped from the orphanage and is now conducting a ritual to summon the Dark Brotherhood.

Aretino lives in the same alley - if you open the lock, you will find it on the second floor. He is surrounded by strange objects and speaks strange words. The boy performs - or thinks that he is performing the Black Sacrament. Is he really calling for assassins? We'll find out soon! In any case, seeing us, Aretino will decide that we are the “child of the Night Mother”.

The boy will issue a task: to kill Grelod the Good, by no means the kind overseer of the Riften orphanage. The easiest way to do this is when she is sleeping. Try not to be seen by anyone. In any case, the death of Grelod will wake up the entire shelter, and you will witness a very funny scene.

Aretino will give out a family plate as a reward and inform him that he is about to return to the orphanage (however, in reality, he will not do this and will hang around at home until the end of time).

With friends like that ...

Which of the three captives do our examiners want to see dead?

Soon after the "contract" the courier will overtake the hero and issue an anonymous message with a handprint and an inscription, the essence of which can be conveyed as "we know what you did last summer." And falling asleep, the hero wakes up already in an abandoned barn, in the company of Astrid and three bound prisoners with bags on their heads.

Astrid will scold the hero for lynching Grelod and offer an exam to join the Brotherhood. The task is to question the three prisoners, guess who the contract is for, and kill him. I will not reveal the secret in the text, since it is still impossible to "fail" the introduction with the wrong choice. Just pick and strike.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: it is possible to reject the Dark Brotherhood by attacking Astrid and freeing the prisoners. In this case, all you have to do is find the guard, go to the commander Maron, and after talking with him, arrange a massacre in the shelter. This closes the theme of the Dark Brotherhood for our hero.

Our congratulations! You now have an official invitation to the hideout. Find the entrance by the road west of Falkreath, say the passphrase and enter. Astrid will greet us and offer to try on the Shadows costume. This is a purely voluntary matter. Redguard Nazir will be our new employer.

Asylum

If you talk to him, he will complain that there is no Listener in the Dark Brotherhood - a medium capable of communicating with the Night Mother, whom he brought from Bravil in a box ...

Muiri can be found at the Witch's Tincture pharmacy, in a tavern or on the streets of the city. After telling her sad story, she will issue a contract for the robber Alain Dufon, who lives in the Dwemer ruins of Raldbthar, and adds that it would be nice to kill Nilsin Shattered Shield from Windhelm at the same time.

You can get to Raldbthar from the north, where a staircase leads up the mountain. He is guarded by his fellow bandits, so the task is almost a standard cleaning of the dungeon, and not even all, but only a small part of it. You will find Alain Dufont by the fire in the company of three bandits. In his hands - a good enchanted hammer "Curse of the Aegis". In battle, Alain is cowardly - he will most likely try to escape, leaving his friends to deal with the killer. Astrid is worried - the already insane Cicero began talking to someone in his room. Was he planning something bad? To eavesdrop on the conversation, the hero has to hide somewhere. For example, in the coffin of his "mother", next to the mummy.

Open the sarcophagus lock and enjoy the scene.

After that, there is a conversation with Cicero and with Astrid - tell them what happened. We are again referred to Nazir. He will issue two contracts - one for the orc-bard Lurbuk, and the other for a vampire named Herne.

  • Herne and his girlfriend live at the Crescent Lumber Mill, just north of the Dark Brotherhood hideout. Most likely, you will find a "client" in the house, behind a weak lock.
  • Orc Bard Lurbuk is the wicked bard in Skyrim. He is so bad that the Guild had to arrange a lottery for the contract, because there was no end to those who wanted him dead. He performs at the Heathers Tavern in Morphala. The easiest way to get close to him is when he leaves the main hall.

With the death of silence

Who else to turn to for the removal of the emperor, if not the Dark Brotherhood? This is a familiar thing!

Upon returning to the shelter, Astrid will meet us and offer to still listen to the Night Mother and go to the Volundrud burial ground to talk with a certain Amon Mothier.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: do not forget, after entering Volundrud, deal with the skeleton sitting on the throne (pretending to be bad!) and pick up the diary to take the "Silence of Tongues" side quest.

You won't have to look for Amon Mautier for a long time - turn left and, after walking over the bodies of twice deceased draugrs, open the door. It turns out that Amon attracted the Night Mother's attention with the help of the Black Sacrament. He will offer very interesting task: kill the emperor himself! Having received a letter and a valuable amulet from a henchman named Rex, return to the shelter.

After talking with Astrid, you will only have to escape to Riften, look into the Thieves Guild and find out from the buyer Delvin Mallory what kind of amulet Amon Mottier gave us. It turns out that the amulet is a sign of belonging to the Imperial Council of Elders. Take the receipt from Delvin and return to the hideout. It looks like someone from the Council is involved in a conspiracy against the emperor.

Astrid, having received a receipt, will send the hero to the wedding. To summon his Majesty Titus Mead II to Skyrim, you need to arrange a turmoil. The best way to do this - to kill his cousin Vittoria Vici, the head of the Solitude branch of the Eastern Empire Company and, by coincidence, the bride. An additional task is to kill her at the moment when she will make a speech in front of the guests.

Until the death tear us apart

This is clearly not Cupid's arrow.

For a character who knows how to hide and wield a bow, the task will be easy. It is only necessary to get through the fortress walls to the place of the wedding, stand up without glaring and, when the bride comes out onto the balcony to make a speech, shoot a well-aimed arrow.

You can use destructive spells, and the illusion of rage (on the husband), and melee weapons, and werewolf claws! You can even push a statue off the wall on the bride's head. But the developers have provided an easy "shooting" way to kill the bride, even for heroes who are not familiar with the bow. To the left of the main entrance to the Temple of the Gods, there is a small door leading to Solitude, a small balcony opposite where the princess will perform. There you will find the powerful enchanted bow "Death of Firiniel", six elven arrows and a potion of accuracy.

It is advisable not to stay on the balcony, but to climb higher - it is easier to leave from there. The lizard Vizara will cover you, but it is enough to run along the bastions, keeping to the right wall to get to the city gates.

ADVICE: it makes sense to search the bride's body for valuable keys and brushed wedding clothing. But it is quickly removed from the game, and jumping to it immediately after killing it means incurring the wrath of the guards. There is a cunning, bordering on scamming way to get around the problem - at the same moment when the arrow flies into the bride, you need to quickly move to the shelter, turn in the quest and just as instantly return to Solitude.

Astrid will give out a reward and a "daily" talent for summoning a ghostly assassin (those who have played Oblivion should recognize him), and then send him to Gabriella for a new briefing.

IT IS INTERESTING: if you take this ghost with you on assignments, it will from time to time comment on what is happening in an afterlife voice. The summoning time is not limited - the spirit can follow us until the enemies kill him, and mutter, talking about the old days.

Vulnerability

While the locals stare at the dragon, Guy and Commander Maron calmly say goodbye.

The task from Gabriella sounds difficult: in order to neutralize the emperor's bodyguards, we must demoralize the chief of security by killing his son Guy during an inspection tour of the cities. In addition, fake papers must be planted on Guy's body, indicating that he was preparing an attempt on the emperor. It is advisable to do this not on the road, but during one of his stops in cities - so that the body can be quickly found. For this, an additional reward is awarded - a sign of the seer, with the help of which the hero will receive a Radiant side quest for improved Shadow armor.

The trip schedule can be stolen from the garrison house of Penitus Oculatus, but this is also not necessary - you can just wait for the victim in one of the taverns in Skyrim. Or, after looking at the farewell scene in the village of Dragon Bridge, walk with Guy to the first settlement, kill him and plant a "compromising letter" (R key by default).

Gabriella will meet you at the entrance to the hideout. Turn in the task and go to Astrid again.

The cure for insanity

The killers! Even after death, they strive to do what they love.

Everything was confused in the house of the Dark Brotherhood. Cicero attacked its inhabitants, mortally wounded the lizard Vizaru and fled, pursued by Astrid's husband, the werewolf Arnbjorn. To find out where the crazy jester could have escaped, we will be sent to his room. From the diaries, it will become clear both the destination - the second refuge of the Brotherhood in Dawnstar, and the password to enter.

So that we can get to the place faster, Astrid will lend her horse - the legendary Shadow Mane. Sit on it, but of course it is better to get to Dawnstar by "fast travel".

First we need to find Arnbjorn. He suffered in a fight with Cicero, but he can speak: the werewolf will tell that he wounded Cicero, and will offer, entering the Shelter, to follow the bloody trail. When the door asks "What is the greatest illusion of life?", Do not select the items "Happy marriage" or "Hmm ... well, a trick where a woman is cut in half," but say in an ominous voice, "Innocence, my brother."

Inside you will find insane comments from Cicero, traps (fiery oil behind a stretch, thorns in the walls) and ghostly guardians of the sanctuary. Notice the clown clothes on the table and the many teaching books.

ADVICE: Call the ghost killer and listen to his comments about what is happening.

The bloody trail will lead you through a round opening into an ice cave (be careful - bear traps!). Cicero will talk about the fact that someone "forced him to expand", and soon we will see who it is - a hefty troll named Udurfrukt (and this is hello from the icy Solstheim).

Behind the wooden door, open the passage to the tomb by pulling the chain. There, rows of coffins and a new batch of ghostly watchmen await us. We open another passage with a chain, and here he is - Cicero. He, it seems, is out of shape, cannot fight and will offer to keep him alive, deceiving Astrid. How to be? The choice is not obvious. On the one hand, he really messed things up, but on the other ... The Night Mother is the Night Mother, and Cicero is her keeper.

It makes sense to keep him alive because he can later become our companion. But if you nevertheless decide to kill the poor jester, keep in mind that he is not dead, but only pretends and will briskly jump to his feet if you poke at him with a sword or try to rob him. On the other hand, it will be possible to remove an improved set of clownish clothes from the body.

Return to Astrid and lie to her (or tell the truth if the jester is killed by your hand). It's time to promote the "imperial" conspiracy - your instructor this time will be Festus Kreks, a grumpy old man.

A killer recipe

The orc cook is so light that you can literally lift his corpse by the scruff of the neck.

Who exactly is hiding behind the name Gourmet, knows one person - Anton Viran from the Podkamennoy fortress Markarth. He must be interrogated and then killed. Best at night, when all the kitchen staff are asleep. Hearing about the Dark Brotherhood, Anton will instantly lay out everything as if in spirit: Gourmet is an orc named Balagog gro-Nolob from the Night Gate tavern, west of Windhelm.

The orc lives in the cellar, but goes ashore during the day. If he's on fresh air, the corpse can be drowned in water, and if in the cellar, a large empty barrel will serve as storage. Do not forget to take a pass from the body, and from the basement - a training book.

Report to Festus Kreks. It's time to kill the emperor! Astrid will be instructor again.

Death of the Empire

"Now put in the soup ... a coin!"

The task sounds easy: using the orc's pass, enter the palace. Then poison the food with the root of the fried oven and, when the emperor gives his soul to God, escape through the top door and the unguarded bridge.

In Solitude, climb the stone steps and eavesdrop on the worried legionnaires' conversation. They talk about the revealed conspiracy and about the commander Maron - the very one whose son we killed a couple of quests above. Maron himself stands at a distance. He will accept our pass and send it to the kitchen, to the cook Gianna.

Where have you seen this - against the Redguard, and throwing fire spells?

Fast travel to the Dark Brotherhood hideout will be disabled, so walk towards it from Falkreath. The quest will begin when you are attacked by Imperial agents. Around the cave there are barrels of oil, and a flame is blazing inside. After overhearing the conversation of two Imperials, you learn that someone from the Brotherhood survived and was driven into the depths of the caves.

You cannot save Arnbjorn. But, having made your way through the fire and imperial agents, you will find Nazir. By killing the agent fighting him, you will prove your innocence in a conspiracy against the Brotherhood. But the exit from the cave was cut off. Nazir is good - he is a Redguard, hardly vulnerable to fire. What should we do? Follow him, and there will be a way out - in the sarcophagus of the Night Mother.

After the scene, go in search of Astrid. Having fulfilled her small request, return to the Night Mother, listen to the instructions. From now on, we are the head of the Dark Brotherhood.

Tell Nazir the Night Mother's words and go to the Prancing Mare Tavern in Whiterun. A familiar employer, Amon Mautier, is waiting for us there. He will tell you that the real emperor is on board the ship "Kataria", at the mouth of the Gulf of Solitude, and under powerful protection. In addition, it makes sense to kill Commander Maron - he is in the port.

If you are going to kill Maron, start with him - he walks the bridges in the port and is an easy target.

The Kataria dropped anchor behind Solitude Rock, and you can get aboard the ship using the anchor chain. The security is small (after all, the Brotherhood is defeated, and there is nothing to fear), and you can sneak through the sailors and agents of the Empire. Soon you will stumble upon a door locked with a powerful lock. The key to this door and to the door to the emperor's chambers can be decorated or removed from the body of Captain Avidius (he lives in the cabin next to the guardhouse).

Oddly enough, the emperor was waiting for us. Before his death, he will ask to kill also the conspirator, Amon Mautier. If you want, do it after talking with him in "The Prancing Mare" and go to Volundrud, where a solid reward awaits us in an old urn (and, most likely, another pretending skeleton at the entrance).

It remains only to go to the Danstar hideout and, after talking with Nazim, to deal with random contracts from the Night Mother and the arrangement of the new home of the Brotherhood.

Well, I said that any garbage on Skyrim automatically becomes gold, and maybe more later.

A pretty cute scene is played out near the entrance, now there is no doubt that the boy, Aventus Aretino, is clearly not just a teenager, but the house is cursed. Inside you will hear his pleas for help to the Night Mother ...

It turned out that Aventus had escaped from the orphanage, where Gerdrud the Good is in charge (the name is actually just a mockery, the old woman does not give her children a chance). In a circle lined with burning candles lies a human skeleton, a piece of human flesh and a heart. The book next to it tells about a mysterious ritual through which you can summon the Dark Brotherhood. Aventus, seeing you, will be delighted, his pleas have finally been heard. Do not have time to blink an eye and now you are already ordered to kill.

Next, your path lies in Riften, in an orphanage. Children "love" their mistress very much and as soon as she falls dead (so that you don't have problems with the law, I recommend waiting until Gerdrud leaves for his office), they will rejoice and start vying with each other to discuss how well they will heal now. Return to Windhelm, Aventus is happy, and you have become richer by 100 septims, plus you have acquired an expensive heirloom.

But you stole the order from under the noses of the Dark Brotherhood ...

With friends like that ...

You may want to rest in a warm bed after committing a murder. Or maybe you don’t want to. In two or three days a messenger will come up to you and give you a note. It depicts a black palm and has the inscription: "We know."

You can go to bed before handing over the note, no difference. In any case, after you fall asleep, you wake up ... In a strange, apparently abandoned hut. A mysterious lady dressed as an assassin will be sitting on the shelf. Behind you, three victims are kneeling, in bags over their heads. Their hands are tied. Astrid, that is the name of the stranger, will offer a game. Guess which of the captives was ordered by the fraternity. There seems to be no choice. The door is locked, and the elf has the only key in her pocket.

In fact, it makes no difference who exactly you kill, the most important thing is that you were ordered to kill, and you killed. The girl is pleased with the result and invites you to the shelter of the Dark Brotherhood, finally saying the password: "Silence, my brother."

But let's not forget, the elf has the key in her pocket. While she will get off the shelf (and she does it veryoooooo slowly), you can have time to finish her off and acquire beautiful light armor, a unique (very strong) dagger and a new quest. Looks like you need to talk to the captain of the Emperor's personal guard.

He dwells in a place called Dragon's Bridge, which is near Solitude. Captain Maron will offer you 3,000 septims if you destroy the entire Dark Brotherhood at the root, and at the same time tell you the password and the location of their lair. I wonder how he knows him? Oh yes, you have to go there alone.

Just rush inside and kill everyone you meet. Inside you will find a lot of unique and very expensive armor, four soul stones, a magical two-handed sword of Astrid's husband, a new cry ("Murder") and a few other little things like potions. Return to Maron and receive your honestly earned reward.

As soon as you go inside the shelter, look around, talk to new members of your family, and when you are ready, talk to Nazir about your first job.

Contracts: Kill Narfi, Kill Beitlid, Kill Ennodius Papis.

Narfi is the easiest target. A poor homeless man lives in the ashes of a house. Nobody will look for him. You can inform him that the dark brotherhood has come for him, or you can remain silent. Alternatively, you can shoot him while standing on the mountain. If you try to kill him in close combat, there is a chance to get caught and attract the guards.

Beitlid is a mine worker. During the day she wanders around the city in public, and at night she sleeps in her house. You can open her house and wait for her there, or wait until she goes there to sleep and open the door at this time. Also, if you inform Baitlid that you came from the Dark Brotherhood, she will attack you herself, and if you kill her, the guards will consider this as self-defense and will not interfere.

Ennodius is a man living in a tent near Anga Mill. Just kill him, the guards will not hear the screams.

Morning will never come

You will be informed about the girl, Muiri, who performed the ritual of the black mystery and appeals to the Dark Brotherhood. Astrid will ask you to find Muiri and complete her assignment.

The girl lives in Markat and often walks the streets. Just talk to her. She will tell the story of her former lover, the family that betrayed her and will give you lotus extract, poison, to lubricate the blade. You will need to kill Dufont, her lover, who lives in the Dwemer ruins with a gang of robbers, and, if possible, finish off Muiri's sister, Nilsin.

Being in ruins, be careful, there are traps at every turn, but there are many closed doors, it's time to raise your hacking skill. If you manage to open the door with the “Expert” difficulty level, then it will not be difficult for you to activate the Dwemer crossbows with exploding arrows and kill the lover and his retinue with two shots.

Now it was up to my sister. The girl lives in Windhelm. You can try to catch her at night at her family's residence, but it would be much more practical to meet her at the temple that Nilsin visits every day. She will sit with her back to the door. And there will be one. What a carelessness. Return to Muiri, she will give you several hundred coins (depending on the level) and give you a ring of alchemy if you killed her sister.

Upon returning to the hideout, Astrid expresses her concern about Cicero, the guardian of the Night Mother's coffin, who recently arrived at the brotherhood's hideout. A psycho in clown clothes locks himself up at night in a room with a coffin and speaks quietly to someone. Astrid asks you to hide in the Night Mother's coffin and eavesdrop on the conversation.

It turns out that Cicero is angry that he is not Hearing and cannot hear the words of the Night Mother. But you can. The lady asks you to find Amanda Mottieri in Volanrud's tomb and talk to him. After the coffin opens, you will have a conversation with Astrid and Cicero. The head of the asylum does not want to return to old traditions and says that she needs to think things over. And it's time for you to go to Nazir for new contracts.

Lubrik is the worst bard in Skyrim, Astrid had to arrange a lottery, too many wanted him dead. You just need to come to the tavern, wait for the orc to go to his room to sleep and kill him there.

Herne is a vampire who lives peacefully at a sawmill with his girlfriend, also a vampire. They are always happy to welcome guests and look very hospitable. If you reveal your intentions, Herne will not resist fate, will not try to escape, but will simply challenge you to a duel. His passion will intervene and try to kill you.

Astrid considered everything and decided that it was foolish to go against the wishes of the Night Mother. She sends you to Volanrud, will meet with Amand Mothieri. He, along with his assistant, lives near the entrance to the tomb of the ancient hero of the northerners. Amand will offer neither more nor less ... Kill the emperor himself. And he will give you an expensive amulet, as an advance payment, in order to "cover the costs."

Return to Astrid, she is very surprised by such a contract and will send you to her longtime friend, a member of the Thieves Guild and an appraiser. If you are already a member of the thieves' guild, it will not be difficult to reach him through a secret passage. Otherwise, you will have to go through a dungeon with rats and bandits. In any case, Delvin (that's the name of the thief) will hand you a receipt for 15,000 septims and tell you the story of the amulet. It turns out that this amulet is given to every member of the Council. It looks like someone is about to stage a coup.

You will receive a bonus if you kill her while talking to guests (an ancient nordic tradition).
