The lightest body type is very limited when it comes to weapons and maximum health, but they can run faster and overcome obstacles that others can't.

To achieve the goal, players are provided with their own unique equipment, which can be combined and modified to control your character in a manner that is close to you or works well for your current team composition.

Due to the fact that the game is not really a first-person shooter (it uses a close-range view over the character's shoulder in third-person mode), I highly recommend it to fans of Call of Duty multiplayer who want to play a game where the main focus is on cooperation in the game, and not just the battle with other players.

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA)

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) is one of the free-to-play Call of Duty-like games that I've probably enjoyed the most, considering purely military shooters. The game is published by the Aeria Games team, and my experience with their other titles has been mostly positive, so I readily decided to give Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) a try as well.

The game has been around for several years, but Lately some impressive strides have been made towards releasing graphical updates and increasing the number of game modes available. Things like gaining experience, unlocking hidden options, friend lists and other community features are there to keep you hooked and make you feel like you're progressing.

Alliance Valiant Arms (AVA) offers a plethora of game modes that any fan of first-person shooters will enjoy: various options for cooperating with other players available for all modes, capturing the flag and multi-round missions.

planet side 2

planet side 2 is the clear winner in terms of its scope and depth; this is an extremely addicting and interesting MMOFPS. The game is set in the same universe as the first game, but you don't really need experience playing original version to enjoy this game.

And yet, as someone who played the first game, I can tell you that they are very different from each other. The original PlanetSide was a kind of game where the storylines didn't come together in common history, and to which there were too many questions, because of which the game could not be given a high rating. In the continuation, everything is completely different, since its developers literally redid everything, starting with the first drawings and prevented the occurrence of flaws at the initial stage.

PlanetSide 2 takes place in a futuristic wartime setting as three factions fight for control of various territories. This is a particularly attractive option if you like to drive land vehicles or aircraft, as there are a lot of them in PlanetSide 2. All of the numerous factions have their strengths and weaknesses, which do not add up to overall strategy, and it's extremely important to consider when deciding which weapon to take into battle against a particular faction.

You'll have to adjust to the demeanor of your chosen faction, and it's generally a good idea to test your strengths and weaknesses before jumping into the fray. Depending on your play style, you definitely fit into one of the factions more than the other. It's also a good idea to chat with friends who have joined the same faction to make sure you can fight together in different territories.

Gotham City Impostors

Gotham City Impostors this is one of those games that, in order to attract gamers, starts life as a paid game and then becomes free for users. In the case of Gotham City Impostors, this trick worked perfectly, but, however, the game is still paid for consoles, so I can only recommend it to you on PC.

As you might have guessed from the title, the game is set in the Batman universe, consisting of a series of imaginative maps of terrain (such as Batman's mansion) where Batman-like heroes have to fight villains resembling the Joker. The focus of the game is on two points. This is, firstly, the ability to fine-tune the parameters of the characters, and secondly, the ability to easily move around the map.

You can move around the area dressed in a Batman cape using a rope and a grappling cat, roller skates and many other ways. These elements fit perfectly into the overall fun and colorful atmosphere that the game offers.

But where the game really excels is that there are an insane amount of character customization options. You can not only choose the most different types weapons, you also get the ability to design the character's body to your liking, there are special promotional bonus customizations, and much more. You can create different versions of the character and freely switch between them depending on your momentary desire or those abilities that are necessary for playing on a particular map or as part of a team.

I'm a big fan of non-military games like Call of Duty that aren't overly serious (like Team Fortress 2, which is also on this list), and if that's what you're into, this is a great option.

Team Fortress 2

Another one of the non-serious first-person shooters that I really like is Team Fortress 2. Similar to Gotham City Impostors, the game was initially paid for and has exploded in popularity since it became free to play. It's a game that I keep coming back to, simply because it has a fun atmosphere, a tight-knit community of players, and a level of variety that most other games just can't boast. You can get the game for free through the platform for free.

There are no tricks in the game storylines: Teams Blue and Red face off against each other in endless battles that usually take place on maps drawn according to the mission objective. The main element of the game are the nine classes established by the developers, each of which plays its own role on the battlefield. If you have enough game hours, you can also unlock additional elements that slightly change your role in the game and help you follow your preferred strategy.

Character classes include heavyweight strongmen who can withstand heavy loads, medics who can heal teammates, spies who can turn into an enemy, and pyrotechnics who love to play with fire. The game can really appeal to everyone, but you have to be willing to try all these character classes to see what suits you.

The cards offer plenty of choice; available great amount different maps and game modes, and if you are part of a large community, finding a game that suits your requirements is very easy. Everything standard cards, such as the Capture the Flag mission map are also present in the game, but there are also more unique ones that represent something that you have never experienced before.

If you're one of those people who appreciate variety, then the free-to-play Team Fortress 2 is the perfect alternative to Call Of Duty.

The Call of Duty shooter cycle, which grew out of the wreckage of another shooter cycle called Medal of Honor, has 10 full-fledged games and a bunch of side projects, so fans of running and shooting have a place to turn around. On the this moment the cycle consists of 4 episodes: the main trilogy dedicated to events, the series Modern Warfare that has moved into our time, Black series Ops and the last part of the Ghosts cycle, which, in theory, should establish a new line of CoD.

Despite the large number and high popularity of the cycle, it cannot be said that it is the flagship of the genre. There are quite a few Call of Duty-type games on the net, and some of them are far ahead of the latest projects in the CoD series in quality. The same Battlefield 3, which you can download online, is head and shoulders above its rival Black Ops, both in terms of content and quality of implementation. If, when creating Black Ops, the authors focused more on arcade shootouts on small maps, then Battlefield 3 offers much larger scale battles and, most importantly, demonstrates much more realistic physics.

The confrontation between the two series has already become a matter of principle, but in the last two games it has acquired shades of farce: the developers of Battlefield 4 say that they have a falling skyscraper, and the developers of Ghosts show off a multi-pixel dog. Iron arguments, nothing to say, but after such statements, the desire to download both games somehow disappears.

Games similar to Call of Duty are released even by our developers. So, the famous network shooter Warface is in no way inferior to latest games CoD in terms of graphics and at the same time offers a similar style of online battles. Moreover, the audience of Warface even exceeds the audience of Ghosts, although much more effort and money was spent on the development of the latter.

If you prefer solo companies, then in this case, games like Call of Duty, such as FEAR, Rainbow Six, Brothers in Arms, and the same long-suffering one, which, although going through hard times, are suitable for you, nevertheless, still showing signs of life.

Military shooter series call of duty became phenomenally popular immediately from the moment the first part appeared in 2003 and confidently holds the won positions up to the present moment.

And even if you go beyond the boundaries of the genre and start talking about computer games overall, CoD will still remain at the forefront of the "best of the best" list. And the main proof of this is the place in the top three-five best-selling games in Europe and North America, where each new part (and every year the Call of Duty line manages to acquire at least one new game) has been steadily falling for several years in a row.

At the same time, there is a part of the players, and a rather big one, who does not take the series seriously. Moreover, calling it monotonous and uninteresting, created on the principle of a conveyor, where it was sent by a money-hungry publisher after about the third or fourth part (here the opinions of skeptical players differ).

Of course, one can argue with such an assessment for a long time and fiercely, referring at least to the fact that at the moment, within Call of Duty, there are several completely different story-time arcs dedicated to various military conflicts, with their own characters and gameplay features, as well as to the fact that these games are made by several separate developers (Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and others), and therefore, by definition, they cannot be "one to one". But we will not do this.

Traditionally, we will start the list with an old-timer, and this time we had more than one in mind - the only game like Call of Duty, and immediately a whole series called Delta Force. The first part of it was released in 1998, and the last one at the moment, Delta Force: Xtreme 2, was released in 2009. Therefore, be mentally prepared for a very old graphics.

We mentioned this series solely for the sake of those players whose computers are unable to pull overly demanding shooters recent years. In terms of gameplay, the game is also not very impressive - it is too far behind game mechanics from current trends. But what you definitely can’t refuse her is the similarity with CoD. Especially with the parts devoted to the conduct of modern warfare.

The third part of the once infamous Soldiers of Fortune line, which, unlike its predecessors, was not able to achieve at least some serious success and recognition. However, as a Call of Duty-type game, the Payback shooter is very suitable.

Absolutely linear, formulaic, but in some places still interesting FPS, the plot of which will take players through 14 missions filled with violence, accompanied by shooting off limbs, crushing heads and other lewdness. As you can see, the trademark bloodlust of the Soldier of Fortune series has not gone away.
