How to get into the general test?

Bonds and medals

Starting from 9.20.1, when winning medals in the Epic Achievements and Battle Hero categories, the player will receive additional rewards in the form of bonds. Please note: Bonds will not be credited for accumulative medals. The number of bonds is not final and may change.

Grand Battle Improvements

The following changes have been made to the General Battle battle type:

  1. The message about victory or defeat in battle has changed.
    Added the new kind battle win or loss messages to make it easier for players to understand when and why the battle ended. The message has separate animations for win, lose and draw. Additional text shows why the fight ended. When a battle ends with the base captured, the capture progress bar goes into a "locked" state shortly before the message appears to indicate that the total will not change.
    This innovation is applied to all random and ranked battles, as well as to the general battle.
  2. Updated tooltips for rewards, which describe various acquisition conditions. In a standard, oncoming battle, and assault, the conditions are the same, but in a general battle, the requirements are higher.
  3. Improved combat interface (HUD) in general battle.
    The transparency of the background of the panels with the list of players has been reduced to make the information easier to read on a light background (sky, water, etc.).

Training Ground Improvements

Changes:

  • Irrelevant options have been disabled in the context menus of the vehicle upgrade windows, the research tree, and the vehicle carousel.
  • The rewards (credits and experience) for victories and defeats while passing the training ground have been balanced.
  • The rewards for completing the training ground are now displayed in the notification center.
  • Added a notification to players that they will not receive a reward when re-passing the training ground.

Corrections:

  • Fixed a bug where some UI elements were displayed incorrectly in color blind mode.

Test server in game world of Tanks 1.6.1 is a regular server where new maps, features, tanks and other innovations of the game are tested. It is impossible to get to the WOT test server when the player wants it - it opens only at a certain time when the game developers will need it.

What is a test server and why is it needed?

Test server is a repository where a copy is stored and reproduced, but with some changes. Of course, before making any changes to the game, they must first be tested.
The first ones see the changes in the staff of WOT developers, then they give access to super-testers. If there are shortcomings, then they are corrected and the version of the new client is tested already under load. They “upload” the test version of the client to the backup server and open access for everyone. Again, the development staff is looking for errors and shortcomings. After - fix and "roll out" a new version of the client.

How to get to the WOT test server

To get to the test server, you need to download a special installer 1.6.1 or install Wargaming Game Center. After that run it. He will offer to download a test client - download it and install it. Next folder will be created. World_of_Tanks_CT(in the directory where the player specified during installation).

Everything is ready to launch! We click on the label of the test client and get to the authorization page and enter the game. We go under our nickname and password, and select one of the two test servers.

Why is this needed?

WOT 1.3 update

Firstly, new maps will be added, decals will appear with which you can change the appearance of vehicles. Personal combat missions will now be viewed quickly and conveniently. New tanks will be added to the game. The old legendary "firefly" will be returned to the Soviet tree. The maps will be reworked and one new one will be added. There are many changes. Maps in WOT 1.3

Adding new maps to World of Tanks will be a constant and ongoing process. So version 1.3 will please you with fresh gaming locations. The Oryol ledge is added to the game - this is a map with industrial buildings, railway tracks on the outskirts of the city. Against the backdrop of huge clouds of smoke blocking the sunlight, battles will take place on this map in World of Tanks 1.3.

In addition to the map "Orlovsky ledge" in wot in patch 1.3, such maps as "Himmelsdorf", "Mannerheim Line", "Fishing Bay" and "Industrial Zone" will be changed. Here are the changes in world update of Tanks versions 1.3 are waiting for these maps:

  • Fisherman's Cove will get additional covers that can be effectively attacked from the city part of the map. Some trees have been removed from the center of the game location. Shooting positions will be blocked.
  • Himmelsdorf will get a new redesigned central part and comfortable firing angles. When climbing the mountain, an embankment will appear behind which you can put your combat vehicle in order to hide from the enemy's preemptive fire. Embankments have also been added to the northwestern part of Himmelsdorf near the destroyed depot. (at the very beginning you can see it on our forum)
  • The industrial zone is perhaps the most modified map in update 1.3. Buildings will appear on the map in the places where tanks pass. The hills will get lower. Moved obstacles in major battlefields such as mounds of rubble and debris. On the territory of a coal mine, mountains of mined ore have shifted. The river in the northeast of the map will no longer have a hole, but a house will appear. And the entire eastern part of the map has been completely redesigned to give this territory balance during the battle on both sides.
  • Mannerheim line in patch 1.3 will have fresh ambushes and defenses in the northern and eastern parts of the map. So, after the update, new trees, defensive fortifications will appear on the map. Also, on the Mannerheim Line, the backaches loved by the players will disappear - you will have to look for new ones. Many obstacles that hinder the passage have been altered or completely removed.

In general, changes in game locations can be called balanced. Reworks are aimed at high-quality and interesting combat for each of the considered maps. Also on some other gaming locations, bugs found earlier have been fixed.

LBZ in WOT 1.3

The number of new LBZs in patch 1.3 will be impressive. The classification of LBZ has changed. All old combat missions have been reworked. The menu for viewing personal combat missions will become truly new. At a time, you will be able to see the overall situation of the progress of LBZ on your account.

Now, reward tanks will be issued for completing LBZ in wot 1.3. They were the T-55A and the Object 260, which received additional improvements. New rewards have been prepared for completing combat missions. To view LBZ in update 1.3, visit the new menu in the game interface.

Changes in the LBZ include new interface hints with descriptions and tips for their implementation. Platoon tasks will become personal. Added a graphic progress indicator for each combat mission.

The return of the T-50-2 tank to World of Tanks

The sensation of update 1.3 will be the return of the legendary Soviet tank T-50-2 to the game. At one time, when the T-50-2 was removed from World of Tanks, this turned out to be a big wave of negative reviews for the creators of the game. But then the developers did not listen to the opinion of the gaming community and removed the tank anyway. And now, a few years later, the tank returns. So far only for the supertest.

We are waiting for the "firefly" based in patch 1.4 or 1.5. The probability that a tank will be added to level 5 is negligible. Most likely, he will receive the status of a tank of level 10 or 7th as a last resort. The developers plan to keep the characteristics of the T-50-2, which he had previously.

Decals in World of Tanks

The new patch version 1.3 will add large decals to the game for all Tier 10 vehicles and Tier 8 Premium tanks. To select a decal, you need to enter the "Decals" tank appearance menu and go to the last tab at the bottom. Personal combat missions: "Second Front"

The long-awaited new personal combat mission campaign "Second Front" is here. Three combat operations various conditions missions and three new tanks as the main reward. This campaign will be a serious challenge, and the completion of tasks will be generously rewarded.

"Second Front" will be available to all players. If you haven't completed the first campaign, you will be able to complete both sets of objectives at the same time. After the release of Update 1.1, we plan to gradually open operations: the first one will be available immediately, then the second one will appear for those who completed it, and the third one will appear some time after the release.

"Second Front" is a new challenge for your gaming skills. In three operations of this campaign, personal combat missions will have different set conditions:

  • First operation: you need to fulfill a certain condition for unlimited amount battles (for example, inflict 10,000 damage over any number of battles). The tasks are cumulative and will require diligence.
  • The second operation: it is necessary to fulfill a certain condition in one battle. Very similar to the tasks from the first campaign: you have to show how cool you can be in one battle.
  • Third operation: stability is a sign of mastery. You will have to show a consistent result in a series of battles (for example, maintain a certain average damage in ten battles in a row).

There are no strict restrictions on vehicle classes in the new Personal Missions campaign. Instead, national associations will appear, on whose vehicles you need to complete tasks - one chain (15 tasks) per operation for each of them. There are four in total:

  • Union: USSR and China.
  • Block: Germany and Japan.
  • Alliance: USA, UK and Poland.
  • Coalition: France, Sweden, Czechoslovakia and Italy.

As part of the Second Front, three completely new vehicles with unique features will be rewarded. Here they are:

British Tier VI Tank Destroyers Excalibur

A machine created as part of a British project, collectively known as "Beetles" due to the unusual shape of the hull.

You will receive not only these cars, but also other in-game items, as well as a female crew.

You can track the progress of tasks right in battle using the key Tab or N. This feature will only be available for new tasks within the Second Front, but we plan to add this feature to the first campaign as well.

Minsk

The map is at the stage of final optimization and improvements. There may be performance issues with this card.

As you know, Minsk is a special city for Wargaming, because the company was founded here. On the map, we recreated the city center of the early 1970s, changing a few things for the convenience of the gameplay. If you have visited Minsk, you will recognize many places right away. If not, just admire the city skyline and immerse yourself in the past of the city!

Studzianki

This map is not based on any particular historical place. It was created based on the battle of Studzianki and combines open spaces and confrontation points. On the location you will find wide fields, a lot of vegetation, small village buildings centered around a tall church. The central point of the map is a small brick factory, which will become an important strategic point during the battle.

Changes on current maps

Calm

Many positions (including the aircraft carrier and serpentine road) have been reworked. The battles on this map will become more fair.

Siegfried line

The positions of the northern team are fortified on the map. Many points are reinforced with additional stones. The landscape has also changed.

mines

The map needed a rebalance as it gave the northern team a significant advantage: the left flank gave them better and faster access to the central island. Using heatmaps and statistics, we made this location more balanced and fair to the south team.

Provinces

Now only Tier IV-VII vehicles will be able to fight on this map. With minor modifications to help the southern team, the bulk of the changes should provide cover from fire in different positions.

industrial zone

The map has been redesigned in HD quality, and its size has increased from 800x800 to 1000x1000 m. Changes have also been made that will improve game process for all types of technology. In addition, the eastern part of the map has been completely redesigned.

Polish branch of technology

FROM Polish card Polish tanks will also appear in the game. It's time to get to know new branch vehicles: ten vehicles are ready to be tested in combat!

We decided to add this nation as a sign of respect for the dedication and courage of the Polish people during the two world wars, when the territory of Poland was at the very center of conflicts.

The branch will start with LT at low levels, continue with ST at medium levels, and end with heavy tanks at high levels. Come into the game and test Polish vehicles in battle!

List of Common Test Changes

New campaign of personal combat missions "Second Front"

  1. The new campaign consists of three operations:
    1. Excalibur (available immediately);
    2. Chimera (will become available after unlocking for order forms, which will be credited on the evening of August 3);
    3. "Object 279 (p)" (will not be available on the public test).
  2. Each operation includes four task branches. Each branch is executed on machines of a certain union of nations (without reference to the type of equipment):
    • Union: USSR, China.
    • Block: Germany, Japan.
    • Alliance: USA, UK, Poland.
    • Coalition: France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Italy.
  3. Access to the new campaign is open immediately and does not depend on the results achieved in the first campaign. Thus, the tasks of two campaigns can be completed simultaneously.
  4. There are 15 combat missions in each branch of the Second Front campaign: 14 can be completed in any order, and the 15th one is unlocked after completing all the previous ones (as in the first campaign).
  5. Each operation has its own characteristics of performing tasks:
    • Operation Excalibur: accumulative tasks. The condition is met in an unlimited number of battles (for example, inflict 10,000 damage over any number of battles).
    • Operation Chimera: the condition is met in one battle (as in the first campaign).
    • Operation "Object 279 (p)": the condition is fulfilled for a certain number of battles. If you fail, the progress is reset and the task must be restarted. This operation is not available on the public test.
  6. For the completion of each task, a reward is given in the form of credits, equipment, etc. For completing the entire operation, a unique vehicle is issued that cannot be obtained in any other way.
  7. Added progress for completing tasks in battle:
    • In version 1.1, progress will only work for the new campaign.
    • A detailed description of the accepted tasks will appear in battle when you press the Tab or N key.

    Appearance of technology

    In update 1.3, large decals will be added in the vehicle appearance section, which you will find in a new tab (see below). With their help, you can add even more personality to your car. Rate new opportunity and take advantage of it!

    Note: the cost of decals on the general test is equal to 1 . The final cost will be closer to the release of 1.3.

    A whole set will be available — up to 40 original decals (both historical and non-historical) that you can apply to Tier VIII premium vehicles and all Tier X vehicles. A maximum of two slots per card type will be available for applying decals, and decal size is subject to change.

    Personal combat missions

    Over the course of several updates after the release of The Second Front, we continued to improve combat missions based on statistics and your feedback. Version 1.3 will be no exception. The first thing that will be improved in this update is the LBZ interface, the elements of which will become clearer and more noticeable.

    The conditions of the tasks of the "Second Front" will also be slightly adjusted. In addition, we will be making a major change to the first campaign. All "platoon" tasks will no longer be such, and their conditions will be adjusted so that they can be easily completed by playing "solo".

    And finally, now you will be able to track progress on all tasks, and not just on the Second Front LBZ, as before. In the near future we will release a separate article dedicated to the changes in LBZ - stay tuned.

    We continue to work on pitched battle» and follow the statistics on this type of battle and its capabilities, as well as your feedback. It's time to test new map, which depicts an area typical of the central regions of the USSR (Belgorod-Kursk-Orel) in 1943. We are waiting for your feedback on the map itself and on the mode as a whole.


    Map Changes

    The update wouldn't be complete without map changes. This time, the edits will affect four locations.

    Himmelsdorf

    When leaving the hill, an intermediate cover has been added, which will make it possible to take additional positions for firing at the enemy. Also, to make shooting easier, decorative vegetation that had no game value was removed.

    For the top team, the departure from behind the corner of the house at the beginning of the "banana" has changed: now it is more convenient and safe for firing.

    The top team will get additional cover for the siding towards the railway tracks: the house with loopholes has been moved to the side to increase the safety of the sidings and increase the tactical significance of this position. Now it will become more convenient for firing at the enemy.

    industrial zone

    Houses have been added that will be used as intermediate shelters during the development of an attack from hangars on positions for tank destroyers.

    To increase the comfort of combat operations, the location of rubble heaps in the area of ​​​​the small hangar, which is controlled by the upper base, has been adjusted.

    In this part of the map, a house has been added and the lowland has been removed. This will balance the position with the similar position of the bottom base team.

    Slightly changed the location of the coal piles in order to improve protection against shooting from the central hangar.

    Changes have been made to the location of bushes and metal pipes in the alley in order to balance the teams in this direction.

    Changed the angle of the slope of the hill to reduce the possibility of shooting through the passage between the large and small hangars.

    Mannerheim line

    On the "balcony" for the team from the top base, improved defensive positions: the number of possible shots from the center of the map has been reduced.

    The pillbox located at this point on the map has been removed. Now the entrance to the "balcony", located on the upper base, will be more convenient.

    The intermediate defensive position has been made more comfortable: the terrain has been leveled, the stone has been enlarged, and bushes have been added as additional cover.

    Added additional bushes for firing from camouflaged positions.

    An intermediate defensive position has been added not far from the positions for tank destroyers from the upper base in case the enemy seizes control over the coast.

    The position to control the entrance to the base has become more convenient, which increases the defensive capabilities in case of loss of control over the coast.

    Fisherman's bay

    Covered entrances to the city for each of the teams: now getting to urban areas will become safer thanks to a change in the terrain and the addition of new shelters that will hide vehicles from early detection. Also, to prevent early destruction of vehicles in battle, the spawn locations of vehicles at the beginning of the battle will be moved closer to the red line.

    In the outskirts of the city, which are under the control of the upper team at the beginning of the battle, the defensive positions have been improved: crossfire from the side of the upper city will be closed, which will allow you to focus on holding back the forces of the enemy attacking the city.

    New buildings will appear in the eastern part of the central village. They will serve as a shelter from detection and shooting for vehicles heading to the city, and will also allow safer movement from the village to the city.

    In the city, between the houses, the shots from the side of the village are partially closed. This will allow the attacking team to more actively approach the enemy position without fear of crosses from the center of the map.

    Vegetation was removed in the central part of the field for both teams, which served as additional cover for vehicles conducting a passive battle from the center of the map. Additional cover was added for the attacking team when developing an attack from the city to the base capture circle.

    AI-controlled vehicles (only with the launch of the second public test 1.3)

    At each general test in all regions, artificial intelligence-controlled vehicles (bots) will be added. As in the Public Test of Update 1.2, they will appear on certain maps and vehicles I-V levels. Don't worry, you'll always know when you're playing with bots: their nicknames will start and end with a colon ":", and a special patch will be displayed next to the nicknames.

    Testing artificial intelligence on the server, we will be able to create more game modes against it, similar to the "Dark Front". Soon bots will be added to the South American server of the NA region, as well as to the Australian server, which should solve the problem of a long wait for a battle at low levels.

    These changes will not affect servers in the EU, RU, APAC regions (except Australia) and NA servers in the USA.
